I'd like to talk about "Looking for" threads/posts as well. I think they're rather redundant. If someone has a villager you're looking for, they would just post a thread anyway. With the amount of members here, I'm sure every villager is wanted by someone.

Hmm.. I'm not sure how I feel about this idea.
My problem is that I feel like there would be a whole bunch of people paying for a villager, then people who are charging, then those willing to give that same villager for free, and lastly those who will give that villager away for their "dreamie".
If your ideas cut the entire idea of paying or trading and only having them for free, then I'd like it, but if a villager I love is going for 50M+, I'm not sure..
I don't know. I might not be reading these correctly.. .-.


EDIT: So take out the people who are looking for one, then you'll have those who charge and those who will give for free, how will that work? :/

I'd like to talk about "Looking for" threads/posts as well. I think they're rather redundant. If someone has a villager you're looking for, they would just post a thread anyway. With the amount of members here, I'm sure every villager is wanted by someone.

I guess they do seem kinda redundant.

But there are many cases that Person B will have a villager that Person A wants, but would really never think of giving them away until they actually find someone that is looking for that villager. They may think it's a waste of time because the villager doesn't seem to be very popular, although Person A really wants that villager.

I kinda think that the "Looking for" section, and the "Giving away" sections should be separate, but I guess that would be too many unnecessary boards. But I do think that you should still be able to look for villagers

I'm fine with whatever you decide! I would like my own thread to keep my updated villager list/villagers given away, but if that is just going to cause the same problem that already exists, then your way is definitely the way to go.

There should just be one big thread for "Looking for ___".

that's why you should post about all the villagers you're willing to give.

Not sure. 'Looking for' threads can get annoying depending on who is looking for who, but it helps when someone wants to give a villager away to someone who would really love them.

When I read your original post, I assumed it was going to be a rather huge overhaul. Like, individual threads for each animal with perhaps a master sticky linking to them. I guess, so people could quickly find animals they are looking for and see when they were given away/traded.((Though once again, it's subjected to off-topic))

Perhaps a subforum for villagers being given away for free, and a subforum for villagers being traded/people who are buying villagers threads with their offers would work?

I have had a few people talk to me about my dream villagers because I posted them and I know other people who have received there dreamies because of posting them too. I think if you take that away then some people may lose out on getting that villager because they didn't ask.

Maybe if each person made one thread each that contained who they are looking for and who they are giving away, it would be better?

I, for one, will not look for people to give villagers to. If they want to, they'll come to me in my foster's home I'll probably make in this new sub forum.

Some people are offering to buy/sell villagers though; I think "Looking to Buy X" and "Looking to trade X for Z" should be allowed. However, people seeking to /only/ adopt shouldn't be making boards; instead they should be going to the threads offering the villagers up for adoption. Whenever people go "Seeking X", or "Look at my sig", it takes attention away from people who are actually adopting out villagers. :/

I personally think its a good idea. It'll also be a lot easier to keep track of which villagers are available, since so many people chat in here about villagers that you have to search through so many pages. A villager 20 pages or even more back could still be available but no one would bother to look sine they don't want to read through all the "looking for" notices and such.

Tabooing "Looking for" threads doesn't really seem like a good idea to me

Like my Coco thread, for example. Not many people are willing to give up Coco, so there were barely ANY traders giving away Coco. I'm pretty sure I saw close to 0

But when I put up a thread that I'd give 10 mil for her, I all of a sudden had 5-6 people wanting to give her to me

Some people need to be coerced into wanting to give away their villager. Sometimes, people can be like "Oh, I didn't know I could get THAT much for that villager" and they end up trading when they originally hadn't planned to

I think the idea is great but I still wish you could delete threads you made so like after you found a villager a home you could delete the thread so the place dont get to cluttered!

Maybe a thread for each species of animal, so say you are looking for Julian you look in the horse thread. I don't know just my suggestion
