so using a digital copy of the game and a hard copy could mess up your fc?

It doesnt! I use both and you just use the same FC for each town, nothing weird or anything.

Probably not. It affects everything.

I remember cleaning my 3DS's joystick and accidentally setting the clock really far back (Had to take out the battery). I turned on the game, and saw the villagers walking around to new years fireworls in the title screen. I turned the game off, set the system clock to the correct time, and there were no problems in the game.

Messing with the system time should not affect your game if you do not use it.

i have the animal crossing 3ds xl edition. it doesnt come with a physical copy. its digital.

Quick question about the plot reset trick where you make a new character. I'm on my 5th reset. The first two times they were villagers I absolutely hated, and these past 3 times no plot has shown up... I'd rather not push this stuff back another day. Is it just bad luck that no one is showing up now?

i feel your pain. you just have to keep doing it. getting a plot is random. sometimes you get one sometimes you dont. just gotta keep resetting.

Your digital game wouldn't be effecting by TT'ing on your physical copy.

I bought a second physical copy (?27.82) because it was cheaper than buying the digital copy (?35) - but my Dad offered to let me use his 3DS for whenever I want to trade between my AC games (he actually thought of it, not me - I forgot he had a 3DS until he said it) so I'm glad I went for the physical versions now.
