I just want to say that it wasn't meant to be a "I'm in line!" thing. If that's how it ends up, though, that's cool.
Yeah, the spreadsheet wasn't really intended to be a placeholder thing, just more of a guide of who wants a villager before you let it go without adopting it out.

If I find out someone erases names, I'll lock the spreadsheet and manage it myself. So if you know, without doubt, that someone is erasing names, please let me know. This is meant as a benefit for everyone; if someone abuses that, I'll lock it up.

Is the spreadsheet meant only for giveaways or can it also be used to trade?
At least for the Villagers names you can do protected ranges I think. To protect certain parts. At least until all the villagers are added in?
Unfortunately the spreadsheet may not work since it would require someone to staff it 24/7 to update requests. It was meant just to help organize what people are looking for since it's usually first come, first serve. That way if a villager wasn't being claimed, you could look at the spreadsheet and see if any of those people wanting the villager are on.

Yeah, but I set it up to notify me when any changes are made to the spreadsheet. Also, quite a few of the villagers folks are talking about only appeared in one game, as far as I can tell. And Cielle, it would. I hope I don't have to lock it down, but I don't think I will. If I don't need to, then it can run as long as anyone wants it to. bittermeat, I think it should be used for trades, too. Just look for someone who wants the villager you're getting rid of, then PM them.
