The villagers you want... just not enough

So we all have our dreamies and villagers we want to try out on our islands.
But sometimes they're not on the top of the list. Maybe they're not even the runner up.

What villagers do you want on your island, but not enough to chose them over someone else?

For example, I want Graham. I think he's a really cool villager.
But I love smug designs so much. I love kidd and quillson and raymond and colton and hans and Henry and hippeux and... you get the idea.
The odds that I will actually end up taking Graham are slim. But I really want him!

Any other smug that isn’t Kyle or Eugene. I like them, I do want to try them out, but I know they won’t be sticking around for too long after getting their framed photo.

At least I got to have Marshal as a long time resident in New Leaf, before he moved out randomly and I started my search for Kyle.

I want Frobert a lot. I designed his house in HHD that I still am very proud of and somehow got attached to him and his colors in spite having no real interaction with the villagers in that game. I may move him in temporarily since I want to cycle through some villagers, but won’t keep him even though I am sure I’ll like him. I also like Drift a lot but there are a few others I’d want to be permanents before him

There are actually so many others that I’d want, but not over my current set of villagers as well as a few that aren’t on my island yet. Would like to try Frita again; I like her design a lot. Not sure if I really like uchis yet though.

I really like Leonardo. I had him in New Leaf for a long time. But for some reason, I couldn't bring to invite him in New Horizons even after crossing paths with him several times on the mystery islands. I'm always second-guessing when it comes to him and I don't know why.

Right now it's Filbert and Pekoe. I've had Filbert before and really liked him. His house is pretty cool as well. Pekoe is nearly edging someone out though, and I may end up taking her, if I'm lucky enough to find her NMT island hunting.

If I had a second Switch, I would love to build an island with mostly sheep and make it into some kind of meadow.

i'm very glad i don't have any set dreamies, because it means i'll be just indefinitely cycling through villagers - but there are of course some villagers i prioritise over others. i've been wanting to get Sylvana on my island for a while, as well as Sherb, Megan, Ozzie, and probably loads of others, but i usually find other villagers i like first and just don't want to turn them down

honestly been debating on cycling villagers for this exact reason. molly was actually a dreamie of mine but i let her go once i got her photo so i could get gayle.

the list of villagers i would want is so long but the ones i would love to have if i had more room would be: dotty, pekoe, skye, pierce, merry, mira, phoebe, tammy, mitzi, felicity, chrissy + francine, and especially most of the sanrio characters, but i can't move any of them in because i like my current 10 and there's well over a hundred others i also like. i just want more villager spots lol!

So many Normal villagers... There are a ton of cute ones but I don't like having more than 2 on my island so I've had to pass up on some.
Lolly, Daisy, Etoile, Fauna, Poppy, Eunice, Gayle, Sylvana, Vesta, the list goes on...

I have a huge list of villagers I want that aren't dream villagers per-say. I hope to bring some of them on in the future. Right now I'm thinking of Lily, Bea, Audie, Merry, Ellie, Tia, Marty, Cheri, Rosie, Flora, Molly, Chrissy, Francine, and Pekoe. I probably forgot 10 more I like too lol. I have one spot on my main island and a few on my second that I like to cycle through. Hopefully I'll get the chance to bring some of them on in the future!

Barold. I love him more than Avery. I have Avery right now. However I wouldn’t know where to place Barold if he were to move in. Avery’s house just fits in so perfectly where I placed it, and I know Barold’s won’t look nice there.

My way of playing is to keep some villagers I'm really attached to and cycle others in and out of the other slots. Right now, I have six permanent residents on one island and seven on the other with the remaining slots cycling. If there is a villager I want at all, I invite them. I try to earn their photos as a keepsake.

Agreed, why do so many normal villagers have to be so cute? This is why I had three on my island for most of the last year, and it's so hard to find non-normals to replace them that can rival their lovely designs!

there are a few villagers I really want but don't have room for atm, like Tasha, Olive, Vivian, Zucker, and Fuchsia. I'm thinking of making some room for Olive and Vivian (since I love them sm ) but idk who I want to make leave yet so it's a tough call :/

i have two NL towns so obviously some of them didn't make the cut for NH given that i could only pick ten. the villagers i had to leave out, but would love to have again, were: marina, ankha, skye, flurry, ruby, o'hare, diana, cookie, stitches, daisy, molly and kiki.

marshal kind of counts because i want to replace henry with him but also don't and have no idea whether or not i eventually will. also felyne, who tragically hasn't made it to NH yet since he was an MH crossover villager. even if he returned, though, i'm not sure i'd have the heart to kick anyone out for him.

I like Blaire, Pecan, and Peanut, but there's a few squirrels that I like more, so it probably won't happen.

I love Merengue, Gayle, Bam, Biskit, Felicity, Tia, Willow, Lily, Henry, and Teddy, but somehow they're never at the top of the list for next villager. I cycle villagers often, so maybe one day.

i’ve actually really been feeling norma and benedict lately and would love to have them both on my island one day, even though they likely wouldn’t be permanent. but there’s several other villagers who i like more and would much rather have + i’ve recently embarked on my journey to scan in and obtain the photos of every sanrio villager and so, i likely won’t be having norma or benedict on my island any time soon.

I would love to have poppy on my island; She's someone whom I've been wanting after since new leaf. But I never obtained her amiibo and have never came across her in my island hopping. I contemplated about purchasing her from someone, but then end up not liking the idea since she's unlikely to be a permanent resident (as i try to avoid species duplication, and I already have Marshal who's not allowed to go anywhere).

Lily is another one, had her as a campsite move-in, but end up kicking her out since I've got Fauna and Maple. In fact, a lot of the normal villagers that I like (Ellie, Molly, Flurry, Merengue, Melba) I can't have because they just didn't quite make it into the cut due to one reason or another.

Also, Beau. This sleepy baby is cute dafjdahg but I already have Erik (as another lucky campsite movein) and it just doesn't make sense to kick out Erik for Beau because I don't have Erik's amiibo either ....
