I don't remember seeing this before the update, but Marshal just invited me to his house and he had this to say:

This was a game mechanic in New Leaf and I like that they've added it to NH.

*customizes my villager's home with items I don't have yet

*makes them sell them to me

*pay nook to put it back the next day

All according to plan!
And he even gave me KK Bossa when I left hahah

Yes, I had the same thing happen to me yesterday where a villager offered to sell me their furniture, but only certain items like in NL. Villagers can also ask you to come to visit your house.

A welcome addition indeed! 😊 This gives the villagers and the game more personality.

Melba did this to me and I was like O:
I missed this feature and am very happy it's back!

Yepp, Ruby also asked me if I wanted to buy something from her.

Anywho, I find it odd that villagers tend to come over to your house and rarely invite.

I mean, I've only been invited once, but villager visited my house many times 😅

I've been invited twice to their homes. Bill came to visit me when I was at home, and Alfonso and Fang asked me if they could visit me when I was outside.

I didn't realize this. How can you get them to do it? I want every single thing in Shino's house so I'd love for her to offer to let me buy things.

very cool, i had no idea! i love all of these villager interaction additions - it makes me very nostalgic.

I wish I could buy things from the closet. I've wanted to get rid of an ugly coloured flashy jacket Julian has had for so long since I made the mistake of delivering another villager's present to him early in the game.

I had no idea that this was back! That is awesome, some of my villagers have some cool items lol

That's awesome. Definitely have been eyeing off Blaire's Rose bed even though I do have one. (Still on the search for the DIY recipe.)

Pretty cool! This update was really nice. Glad to see another loved feature added to new horizons.

I liked this feature in NL too. I'm glad it's back. I haven't been invited to any villagers' homes yet, but now that makes me look forward to it even more.

Gift Julian something like 10 copies of his original shirt. If he puts them in his house, pay Tom Nook to delete them.

I went to Mollys house and I asked to buy stuff but she kept giving me everything for free lmao

I’ve started gifting him a lot of nice clothes in the hopes he’ll rotate the piece he’s displaying to the one I don’t like so I can do just that haha.

The only things I find myself wanting to buy are the things none of them wanna part with ahaha

Three of my villagers were starters, so this has already proved a bit useful— particularly with getting Phoebe to let go of some furniture that clashes so bad with her place.
