things you plan on doing differently on the switch

In New Leaf, I've never really made my town look pretty and stuff. My sister is the mayor and she basically gave up on the game half the time. I feel if I was the mayor in the beginning, I would've been a lot more motivated to actually do PWPs, place down paths and plant lots of flowers, trees and bushes. I'm hoping this new animal crossing is the one :)

when i first played new leaf, i knew absolutely nothing. i didn't know you could reset for different layouts, starting villagers, fruit, etc. i'm not going to restart the town i have now in new leaf because there are too many memories in it, and i put a lot of effort into making it the way it is now, so i'll use my switch town to reset for things i might want, like native cherries (which are my favorite of the main fruits).
so basically, the opposite of the first post haha...i probably won't be a mega perfectionist about it though. i care mostly about the fruits. and i'll make sure to look at all the maps this time. (in new leaf i chose the second map as soon as i saw it because i was afraid if i said no too many times i wouldn't be able to play the game or something? idk it was 4 years ago)

i?m so excited to have a game like this because i used to be so worried about my towns looking perfect and getting certain villagers and now i really want to play a game from yhe start organically. when it releases, there won?t be any game guides out and i can wait to discover things for myself instead of looking stuff up and already knowing about a lot of things.

Getting new leaf was a surprise becouse I barely knew anything about the series.
And I will not make the same mistakes like thinking the first map they show you is your town wether you like it or not

I really want to start making my own original paths/designs. Everyone usually ends up with the same or similar ones and it made my town feel less unique. Any time I saw someone else with the same path but better landscaping/themes I'd get discouraged from using it. If I have my own maybe it wont discourage me and make me want to reset my towns so much!

I really want to explore the game more without looking at guides. I also intend to avoid time travel entirely, although that might not happen.

I'm definitely going back to my old-school style of playing. Back when NL first came out, I made friends with all of my villagers, even if I didn't like them, displayed random items in my house, earned Bells without the island, and just had a jolly good time. Then, when I had multiple copies of NL, I started to get stressed and even turned to hacking for a short period of time. I definitely want to be nice and chill for AC Switch.

I feel the same, I focused wayyy too much on making my town perfect. This time around I'm never deleting my town, I'll keep my original save file. That's something I regret doing so much with NL
