On the Re-Tail and TBT Marketplace boards, what do you guys think about people who want you to copy an order form and fill it out to trade with them versus people who just let you say what you want and make an offer for it? Do you think order forms are really useful for organization or do you think they are a waste of time? I personally don't use them since I can just look at their profile to find all of the useful info about them or just PM / VM them if I have any questions, but I'd like to hear from other people who like to use them on why they like them.

I recently started using one because in my thread I had stated "Name your price and specify whose town" but the vast majority of people coming to my thread did neither one of those.

I don't really see the point in putting "Friendcode" in the form since most users' are in the sidebar, but as for town info it saves a few clicks so why not?

They don't really bother me unless the forms are super long. In some cases they might be necessary but I don't really see the need to use them.

Doesn't mean I don't use them myself on the odd occasion though

AS long as it is short, sweet, and to the point.

I had a store without a form once (in the tbt market place with listed prices) and I said that trades would happen in the buyers town. I got a lot of orders saying "I'll take [Item] for 400k IGB! Add me and open your gates!"

I like forms that use a password that is somewhere in the OP so you know the person read it (unless they just see it from someone else's form)

I've got forms on my cycling town as well as my Gracie Fashion Rental store. They're done on google drive and automatically make me a list with the information I need. The forms themselves are super short and are generally just one question outside of Who are you and whats your FC.

I don't think theres anything wrong with forms. It keeps things organized (for me) and they shouldnt take more than one or two minutes.

I don't really care, probably because there's not a lot (if anything, actually) I order from here, but I do think that they're very handy for keeping things organised. I know that I'd use them if I sold stuff here.

I think either way is fine. Forms seem to help organize information for the trader and it's easier to have the correct information in one post compared to having to search through someone's profile.

I like to use order forms. Otherwise, you get conversations like this:
Hoppy: Selling a cake, perfect apple, lawn mower and a snowglobe! Each will be 50k.

Derp421: ill buy it!!

Hoppy: ...What will you buy?

Derp421: uhhhhhh ill take the lawn mower for 100 bells?

Hoppy: Erm, no, it's being sold for 50k.

Derp421: s0 u want 50 bells? k

Hoppy: ...

They're okay as long as they aren't long. Then it's like, I don't want those items THAT bad, do I? xD
The friend code thing is kinda pointless as 99% of people have the friend code in their sidebar. I once saw this shop a while back who literally told us to actually type the friend code in the form and to not just say "sidebar." How does that make sense? xP

i like the order forms because it makes it much easier for the seller. they're a great way to organize and clearly convey the information needed.

I don't think they're necessary in a simple buying/selling thread. I can understand why a huge orderables shop would need them, if you're filling 20+ orders a day. Everyone else, I think they're more of a pain than they're worth, and I have actually decided against buying someone in the past because they wanted a ten-field order form and only had one item I wanted. I just see it as a hassle

Besides, if you're only selling a couple items, how much of a bother can it be to have a conversation with your buyer/seller? It just seems so impersonal to fill out a form so you don't have to actually talk to the person. Idk.

I don't care either way as a buyer, but I can see how order forms make sales easier for the seller. I don't mind filling them out. I think it helps us both to be sure I'm getting what I want and they're getting the correct amount of TBT/IGB.

I think they're useful if you're selling/buying a lot of things and let 3 people at once in your town.
Just to have an idea who they are while they are in your town, in case there's a problem.

i dont see whats wrong with them, pretty much all the forums ive been a part of use them somehow. they're convenient for the buyer and the seller

I don't like them. It's really annoying when it's a buying thread and they ask you to fill out a form... I just won't fill one out even if I have the items they need

I do use them and find them helpful. I only use forums on mobile, so it's convenient to have everything in one place. There's less chance of people being missed with the use of them also.

On the other end, I don't mind filling out forms, but if I don't absolutely need the "items", I usually end up too lazy to fill it out.

I think they can be really helpful in some cases but not all, like especially for art and stuff they're particularly helpful because if they want it a certain way it's easier than asking a million questions.
