Town Tree Size Question

Hello all! I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

I've had my town since June 9, 2013. I've clocked in close to 1,000 hours and have definitely played more than 500 days. I have the badge from Phineas.

However, my town tree has never reached its full size. This is kind of upsetting, because I've seen how huge these trees get and mine is big, but not that big.

At first I thought maybe it just hadn't grown back from the winter, but it's still just kind of normal sized.

I was wondering if this was a known glitch or something, like if my game just has some sort of issue. It really does make me a little peeved.

So yeah, if anyone has any experience with this, I'd love to hear it!

My town is well over 500 days old (540 to be exact), but my tree isn't full size either. I wonder if it has to do with my time traveling. I only have the silver badge from Phineus... Hmmm.

Well villagers tell you that as the history of your town grows, so will your town tree. Maybe you just have to do more in your town, like add more pwps and landscape more

I mean, it's not like I don't play...I have a perfect town, a full sized house, have every pwp unlocked and have many built. It just doesn't make sense. The tree is supposed to grow based on the days and hours played, that's why I am so confused.

Yeah, it should only take 500 hours and for you to play on 500 separate days. Is it possible the 500 hours have to be done in the town and not outside the town? Also 500 days is a good 1.37 years of daily playing. It could simply feel you've played on more individual days than you really have.

Note that Phineas only appears on clear days.

I stated that I already have the badge from Phineas, so I have definitely met the requirement. I've had this town since the day it came out. The 3DS also has this nifty thing (Activity Log) that keeps track of how many times you've played something and how many hours it's been. Clearly, and I already know this, I am well within the parameters. I was asking if this has happened to anyone else or if it's a glitch of some kind because it's just weird. There's no question about whether or not I've met the requirements. I did see some stuff somewhere that it takes a while for it to grow back from Winter, but it just seems smaller in the trunk than it should be at this point.

Maybe I just think it's smaller than it should be because I'm so used to seeing it, but I am not sure.

That looks right to me. It's the same size mine is after almost a year of playing.

I hate to think of the game glitching, and I don't think it does very much, it's generally a very robust game.

I have heard of a few posts saying the same as you, and players say the same as they do here, no real definite answer.

I haven't got the largest tree and I'm not sure if your picture is of the largest or not -

this picture, albeit very dark makes me think there is another stage for you to go? Unsure, sorry.

The only thing that comes to mind is your number of times played is 686 - do you ever play more than once per ingame day?
If you do then is it possible you haven't played 500 separate days?

I've come back to this thread as I found out something yesterday I didn't realise.
I've made a new town & cos I have others already I was looking for specific fruit (peaches) plus easy access between R-Tail & dock, not too many rocks etc etc: & I reset & reset until I nearly screamed - I finally found something that works OK, tho I compromised as always (duplicate villager, but I did get peaches!)

I checked my activity log after I saved for the first time - and it showed I had played 42 times! ie it counted every reset that I did - so if you reset for any reason (villager plots etc) it makes the number of times played look a lot more than it in reality is.

I plot reset by pressing home & close without saving - I presume this is the soft, relatively safe way to do so.

Honestly, that does sound like a glitch. I got the game on the same day as you and have similar stats but my tree is fully grown. Your tree looks like it's in the second to last stage. Maybe shoot Nintendo support an email about it and see if they have any answers.
