Tuna and blue marlin

Im having a very hard time getting tuna and blue marlin fish, I spent over 100 fish baits for them but still no luck. Is there any particular way to catch them? Please share your thoughts . I haven’t had a problem catching oarfish though, getting it every day at least 2 of them. And also barreleye fish is very hard for me .

Are you making sure to toss the bait off the end of your dock for the tuna and blue marlin? That's the only place they appear.

As for the barreleye, it only appears late at night (9pm-4am) and it's the same size as the horse mackerel. It's pretty rare though.

You can only get them at the dock/pier.

I have no problem finding them there, even without bait, but you shouldn't have much trouble getting them to spawn with bait.

Yes I had never ever seen any fish spawn at pier, I don’t know why, that’s why I always use fish baits to catch them .

It was hard for me to catch these fish (and the Mahi Mahi too) even with lots of bait. They only appear immediately around the pier (I got my Marlin on the side of the pier), so you pretty much need to throw lots of fish bait because they don't spawn very often.

Even then, the hardest fish for me was the Barreleye. It took me nearly 7 months to find one.

Sometimes, I feel like when you fish on another person's island; you'll fair better (however that can also be coincidence)

For a lot of the pier fish and fish in general, I caught most without actively hunting for them, lol. I did use a ton of bait for the blue marlin.

I had luck with the tuna and blue marlin a few months ago and haven't caught either since, and I'm also having a hard time finding the barreleye. these fish are really tedious to find I think so don't give up, I was in a similar situation with the stringfish but I eventually got it

unfortunately I don't think there's much you can do other than just keep throwing fishbait off the end of the pier and hoping for the best. I remember them being a struggle to get but it's just such a relief when you finally get them! I'm currently struggling with the stringfish so hopefully we can both get what we need soon

I just try fishing when I walk by the piers and see big shadows, spamming bait is very stressing and time consuming for me.

I got the stringfish with in just 6 baits at the very fist time and second time spawned itself, I was so happy
Hopefully same way I will catch tuna and blue marlin as well (one day)

I keep seeing they only appear at the end of the dock, but every tuna and marlin I've caught have been beside the dock, none at the end, only the south side. I never even go on the dock, i catch them from the beach beside the dock.

I don't think I've even caught a Tuna in the game yet. The Blue Marlin was by the dock for me, on the south side of it. I've caught more Barreleye than Blue Marlin.

I've caught several marlin, but only 2 tuna. They seem much more rare for me anyways.

Yes they are rare fishes. I think they are randomly spawn for everyone on their island . I’m going try for my daughters island let’s see if I get a lucky to find them

I've had pretty good luck with all of the pier fish, it is definitely possible to get them by throwing bait off the dock. I've even caught another blue marlin because I saw a suspiciously large shadow near the dock.

The barreleyes are definitely easier to find, all it takes is some late fishing for small horse mackerel sized shadows. They're rare, but far from impossible to obtain.

Looks like the bottom right corner of the island, it probably spawned south of the pier (offscreen) and swam slightly to the left. ^^

It took me something like 60-70 baits to catch both. I caught mine from the pier if it helps at all.

I used a little over 300 fish bait just for the Mahi-mahi. This game really makes you work for the fish.
