Villager move out/move in dilemma - not glitch related

I have Gruff at my campsite (amiibo card). It's his second visit, so next time I invite him, I will set his plot and he will agree to move in. Today, Rodney told me he's moving out and I agreed. So... what's going to happen? I think Rodney will be in boxes tomorrow? Is that right? I don't want to mess up Gruff's move in location, so should I just wait to invite him to the campsite a 3rd time until Rodney is gone? Is it okay to skip days between amiibo card campsite invites?

Also, side topic, what happens to Rodney's site? Will somebody be able to move in there exactly, or do I have to replot. With Rodney and without Gruff, I have 7 villagers.

Rodney will be in boxes tomorrow so you'll still be able to put a plot down for your camper and invite your amiibo villager!

Rodney's plot will be empty. No replotting needed. Youd be able to invite another villager from an island if you want or just wait for someone random to come in.

not related to the topic but: I love Gruff! i had him in my new leaf town and i first i disliked him but then i grew to love him hahaah he's awesome and it's very nice seeing him getting some love!
