for me it's dom, bob & maybe merry. i adopted dom yesterday & i'm tempted to tt just so he moves in already AAAAH. he's just baby. every post of him on social media led to this day of me deciding to get rid of a dreamie just so he moves in. then bob has been a dreamie since acnl ONLY due to the .gifs years ago. i know he's an ac o.g. but i used to not care about him because i never really had him. i was always just team punchy as he's been in each of my ac towns. now i'm a bob & punchy besties for life enthusiast. unfortunately until we're allowed to have more space, bob can't move in to meet his best friend yet.

so yeah, world DOMination believers. y'all got me!

i think his memes blowing up are organic just because of him being cute. don't k*ll but me but i think dom deserves raymond hype. raymond been on my island for a month but he's just there. he makes me smile sometimes when i see his teeth (don't ask) but i still wonder what made him so popular because i still don't see it.

I don't thinking I have villagers that become dreamies because of social media. But I do become more fond of certain villagers because of the screenshots people share that I would be willing to have them on my island for a big to see how I see about them since I'm probably going to be cycling 7-8 villagers.

The only exception is Marina. I can't seem to like her.

hmm i wouldnt rly say dreamie but some villagers have definitely come on my radar recently bc of social media.

i didnt rly know how i felt about any of the new villagers when we first saw them; they seemed cool but i wouldnt want any on my island. but i keep seeing all these posts of in game stuff and fanart of Dom and Judy and they're both so expressive and small,, i want to hold them (gently). i dont think i could consider them dreamies, but i will make space for them on my island if i ever come across them on my own.

Fauna is a villager i felt nothing for for a long time. id see in acnl all these cute lil foresty towns and her (and Erik) would always be in them. it kinda annoyed me that ppl always went after the same villager out of all the villagers available, but idk after seeing posts of her in acnh she's just a rly lovely villager. i like the normal personality a lot and the way she's designed is pretty & i love her vibrant colors. i was planning on having 2 normal on my island, so i think she'll have to take one of those spots.

the moment i saw Stitches when i got him in my accf town,,, i luved him. i kinda denied how precious he was bc one of my sisters claimed that he was their favorite and i was just so jealous and didnt want to copy them lol. but im a tru stitches stan at heart and i must take him home!! to my island. but every piece of content i see with him in it, just makes me so happy & wish he was on my island even more. but u have to make sacrifices, and i must get all the villager pictures.

i thought the same for fauna ngl. people had the same villagers it's so annoying to me. like i just thought she was so overrated back then, in fact i thought the same for half of the deers (zell's my favorite so maybe i was just bitter that he's not getting the attention lol). fast forward to now, she just happened to be on a mystery island and i took her in but after getting to know her, she's a sweetie and she's staying.

I think the only villager I started to want because of other people was Punchy and that's just from people on here posting cute pictures of him.
The other villagers that are dreamies are either ones I had and loved in older games, I liked their design or I connected with.

Hopper was kind of one for me! I was watching RTGame stream on twitch and he has Hopper, and I was immediately obsessed!

I also got Audie, Sherb, and Marina on islands because I knew that they were popular. Didn't end up keeping any of them, though!

i don’t choose my villagers based off of their popularity, i choose them based on how i personally feel about them and whether or not i like their design. however, one of my dreamies, margie, i grew to really like after seeing her in the acnh direct, if that counts - she just looked so adorable in that clip and i knew i wanted her on my island. now that she’s on my island, i love her even more and consider her my new favourite villager atm ;u;

I think in NL most of my villagers were the very popular Tumblr ones like marshal, fauna, Diana, beau, etc. It was boring for me to have them so I tied to switch it up a little in NH although id say most of my villagers are still tier 1 :C

Ngl, it's Rodney. I had him way back in NL, thought he was chill, but I wasn't obsessed with him until I saw all the hate surrounding him on Reddit and everywhere, and then needed to find a replacement for Lionel, who made me discover I hate the smug dialogue for how snobby and pretentious it is, so I wanted a villager that didn't look like I'm supposed to take them seriously. A goofy little guy. Just like how I can laugh off Billy's muscles talk because he's just kinda silly-looking.

I saw videos of Rodney saying funny things to other villagers on Youtube and I thought... wow, he's really not bad. In fact... I'm getting him.

Drago! If it wasn't for YouTube, I wouldn't have learned that my favorite mythical creature- dragons- get representation in Drago in Animal Crossing! If I had the room and/or someone I wanted to kick out, I'd kick someone out so I could get him. I love my dragons, so learning about Drago was something I'll always love.

I would say Diana. Up until now I never considered her as being an option for a snooty villager... But my island will be ancient Greece (ruins) themed, and after seeing on here and on Reddit that her house is themed after a bath house, I decided I have to have her. Would have been perfect if her name had been Artemis, but o well Of course I really like her design, and snooty villagers are one of my favourite personalities, so now she will join Whitney a part of my snooty duo.

I do admit that before recently one of my reasons for not having her was her popularity (and me never considering two snooties), but I decided to let go of such nonsense.

For me it was Sherb and Skye; I didn't think I cared for Sherb until he was my third random move-in on my island, and wow is he adorable and I love his shade of blue. I would see clips of Skye on those ACNH best clip videos on YouTube and thought more and more how cute she was, plus I love her color scheme and her name kinda fits with the theme for my island. And now today she's moving in =w=

I always did like the clown aesthetic, but I thought that sheep weren't that great (I was wrong) and watching Pietro make faces and singing songs really won me over.
Those still aren't dreamies, but if I had more space or a second island, I would definitely consider them.

However, I also find myself quickly getting tired of villagers that are overexposed. They just use their novelty, I don't know. Guess it's different when it's my own villagers since I have a personal connection to them, but seeing others that I don't know personally over and over and over again just makes me want to get to know them less because I feel like I've seen it all before ever even meeting them.

Octavian is great! I used to pretend Marina was the only octopus but I ended up getting Zucker really early on and decided to give Octavian a chance and I love having him on my island. His always angry look is so perfect for his personality.

true about popularity. i don’t either but like, sometimes the impact of seeing villagers you used to not care for being shared via screenshots or posts online makes you realize how cute they are and the next thing you know, you’re desiring to have them on your island

I don't think I acquired any dreamies due to social media. I did get exposed to some of the villagers I love when I joined TBT years ago as New Leaf was my first AC game so there were many characters I wasn't too familiar with. Zucker is the first dreamie that I can think of and during NL days I paid so many bells for him. lol...

Definitely Molly! She moved into my town in NL and I never really liked her. But I saw a lot of art of her and I decided to give her a chance when I got her in NH! I really like her so far, she's such a cutie and I regret not talking to her more in NL!
