First off these two ideas would be my first ever tattoos. The closest thing I've gotten to needles is my ear lobes and cartilage pierced. I like that these ideas are simple, no colour and also have a matching theme, nautical. I eventually would like to get flowers but for now this is what I'm stuck on. I've never been this stuck on tattoo ideas this long before. And I really want to get them, alot. I don't have enough money rn, esp since I want to save up and get furniture for my room to remodel it. I also haven't done any research and don't know where to begin with that.

The two tattoos I want is one, a simple moon phase change outline on my inner upper right arm. No detail, no colour, just black ink. I would need to find someone who does good smaller tattoos and perfect circles. I'm pretty solid on idea and placement.

The other one I haven't thought of a solid design yet for. I would like a simple compass with stylized line art near my wrist on my inner left arm. No colour, just black lines and not fully complete circles. I would need to find someone who's good with lines and curves.
I do have a slight issue with this one thou. Because it's going to be near my wrist (like a little above it) I'm concerned about the veins that can clearly be seen in my skin right there. Like, would an artist be able to even tattoo that area? Not even considering it's a slightly curved area with little muscle, my wrist are small and boney.

Regarding your issue with the compass idea, that area is highly sensitive and will hurt, but it can be done (just don't expect to be able to get a line in on that wrist if you ever end up in the ER). It won't hurt as much as, say your knuckles or elbow, but do expect itchy ticklish pain. Likely, the artist you pick will use caution around the area due to the veins, as the area has delicate skin, but in most cases it can be done no problem. They will ask if you're sure about the placement, and they will warn you about the pain. I'd say make sure you have a good artist working on you, as they'll be sure to work with skill and caution. My father says to pinch the skin with your nails to see if you can handle that kind of pain, first. Otherwise, you may have to find a "meatier" area, so to speak. (I have no tattoos myself, but my parents are familiar with this subject; my mother's a former tattoo artist, herself)

I like the ideas you have, I hope they'll turn out well! :D

i'm sleepy so apologies if my wording or interpretation of your post is poor lol.

marzipan said most of what i was going to say already but i also want to add but you pretty much never have to worry about tattooing over veins, they're deeper than they appear and the needle will never go that deep. boney areas like your wrist will always hurt more than more fleshy/fatty parts of you and generally swell up a lot more, so make sure you won't be having to rely on your wrist after you get it tattooed.

on another note if you're unsure about or unable to think of any exact designs, that's what the artist is there for. you can just describe to them what you want, and they'll sketch up their own interpretation(s) of what you have in mind and you guys can work together to figure out what you want.

Ah I hadn't even thought of use for my wrist after the tattoo. It's not on my dominant hand but I would still need my left wrist to do stuff at work. I can prob get around that thou. I also have a faded burn on the general area of where I'd get the tattoo. The skin isn't any different in texture only colour.

Both placements are fairly easy to have done. I've been tattooed over prominent bones and veins (including inner wrist) without issue.

Easiest way to find an artist is to check out your local studios, then look at the individual artists Instagram accounts. I met the artist who has done several of my tattoos now (with 2 more booked with her!) in a Facebook group.
