Does anyone else seem to meet a lot of people with extremely weird/terrible names? I was thinking about this because I saw a little girl named Miracle today (poor kid). I've also met a Divinity and a Stormy in the past.
I've even met people with common names spelled in a "yooneek" manner (like Jaysin and Jaymes).
Obviously, taste in names is subjective. But I can only see so many of these people getting mocked for their parents' bizarre choice.

my best friend in primary school was called nevaeh. which is heaven backwards. its a bit strange but its not the worst, the meaning behind it is mostly why its strange i think. dearbhla is also a really weird name that a girl i met in primary had, its like the worst spelling/variation of the name it comes from or whatever. i also knew a girl called tirion but i think thats a pretty cool name
every time i hear about a girl thats called something like destiny or harmony, theyre always described as being absolute garbage people. something about those names must give them deep internal angst or something and i wouldnt blame them really
all of my cousins have weird names but the worst one is sharman
ive also thought that jacqui is a weird spelling (which was the name of my headteacher in secondary) but imo its still better than jacky/jackie anyway.
id rather name my kid moon unit than give it a name like angel, babe, sonny, buddy, rover, junior etc etc. i feel really bad for people with those names, and unfortunately i have met quite a few people with names like that.
kinda off topic ive always thought that the tradition of passing on your own name (which probably isnt really your own either) to your child is super weird as well. a huge part of their identity gets taken away, but maybe im just overthinking it.

In elementary there was a kid named Rusty Knuckles. No foolin. I think his parents were crackheads

Yeah, that's quite a common one actually. My cousin named her youngest child Neveah, and I kinda cringed when I heard that tbh. It's a nice sounding name, but my cousin and her partner aren't religious in the slightest so I really don't know what gave them the idea to name her Neveah.

My grandma had a neighbour who named their son "Boy" as they couldn't think of a nice boy's name lol. I think that's the best I have come across.

There were a few ""unique"" names from people at my old high school, including Essence. All I could think of when I heard that name was vanilla essence xD There was also someone called Majeztik (or some spelling like that), which is a weird spelling of majestic. Interesting choices I guess.

I don't really meet many people as it is, so no. However, I do hope that Miracle's parents had the common sense to make her middle name "Whip"

in my country it's really common to name kids "baby"? so my grandfather's sister who is like,, 70+ years old is called grandma baby :(((

Looking at a Baby Names website, one of the possible names you can name your child is Story. Just... Wha?

I know someone named Ratchet, took some time to getting used to

probably samantha

thats my real name and AGREED LOL i hate it so much

I hate any thing like Brody/Baylor etc
I also know a girl who named her kids Xaidee and Xeric because she wanted to be cool and give her kids names w Xs

I had a friend growing up who was named Blue.

That’s interesting. I wonder if they were ever interested in Pokemon... lmao

Imo, the only name that sounds good with an X in front of it is Xavier for a guy. Anything else doesn’t usually fit or sounds strange.

Anyway, as far as my name goes, I know parents sometimes name their girls Rylie or Reilly or some other weird take on the name Riley. I’m fine if it’s someone who is actually Irish and one of their names is O’Reilly, but anything else sounds off-putting to be honest. Fun fact though: Riley actually originated as a male name. So there’s that too.

I've always thought food names were weird. I knew a girl growing up whose name was Peaches. Her parents both really liked the fruit peaches & thought it would be a "cute" name. (She actually hated the taste of peaches, btw.) My friend has a cousin named Olive. I don't know that I'd want to name a child after food.

I haven't known anybody with too strange of names. I think the strangest one was there was this guy in high school named Alexander Alexander. Yes, both first and last name were Alexander. It was so weird.

i actually had a french penpal named Marvelous. not the weirdest but certainly interesting.

i once heard of a person who named their child "Chips Ahoy". yes, "Chips Ahoy", as in the cookie brand. some parents don't deserve to be in charge of naming their kids.

Well, my brother's legal name is PlagueStone Wyrm, but that's not my parents' doing. They quite honestly hate it, but he legally changed his name when he became an adult so there's nothing they can do about it. As a side note, my brother has severe mental health issues, so yeah...

I have met a woman named Charmony/Charmonie (not certain of the spelling), pronounced like charm and harmony combined.

And there was also a man named Stanley J. Stanley, Jr. That must have been a really creative family. LOL

Well there was a painter named Hamilton Hamilton so..

Wish that hilarious video (the og one) was still up so i could post it..But yeah some parents don't really think. Well they didn't with me so I hope I can change it because I never heard people getting mine right or just thinking it's another.

But yeah I'm glad it's not some alternate spelling name like Khrystal or just some made up like Applebutt Peacock or something
