I've been busy the last couple of days, but still had a lot to be happy about. I absolutely loved the Halloween event this year and I'm thrilled that I had so much time to focus on it. I've been wanting to host a writing event forever, but this was the first time I felt like I could commit to reading everyone's stories. It was definitely a bonus that they were spooky stories. I set aside time to read them every night when I was the only one awake for maximum effect. I had a really hard time narrowing it down for staff favorites because there were so many great ones.
I've passed the two week mark since my procedure and, just as the doctor promised, it's been a major turning point. I feel much more comfortable. I'm off all pain meds, including Tylenol. I'm walking up and down stairs with only a little bit of support. I'm also back to doing my typical three block walks in the evenings, so I've seen a bunch of my favorite neighborhood animals again. I've been cleared to go back to massage therapy starting this week. There are still plenty of things I can't do, but I'm making progress every day and I'm grateful to my husband for all his support and encouragement while I heal.
My birthday just passed and all the birthday wishes I received here on TBT as well as in real life really made my day. I wasn't able to go out and do anything fun, didn't even feel up to going out for dinner, but receiving those messages from all of you cheered me up when I was feeling a little down.
Daylight Saving Time has ended! I'm not feeling the effects of it as much since I'm not working at the moment, but I know I'll be happy about it when I have to go back to work. Even now, things just feel more "right" to me going back to standard time. It matches my internal clock.
Finally, I got to watch the Minnesota Vikings play and win tonight! I was nervous the whole time. The game was a lot closer than I would have liked right until the end, but they pulled through for the win!
