What are your preparations for the upcoming game ACNewHorizons?

I've started playing new leaf again. Would love to take time off work/college/being a parent but no holidays left. So will probably be playing late at night so I should probably get some sleep in before as preparation :D

I'm going to do a spring clean, so there's nothing left to do but play the game! :)

I'm going to get extra course work and housework done the days before release so I can play Friday-Sunday guilt free!

Probably check to see if there are any quizzes/tests/big projects due on the following Monday, and then work on taking care of that in the beginning of the week. That way when Friday rolls around most of the work will be done or content studied and I can play ALL friday and saturday without worrying about a thing. And maybe some in the beginning of Sunday!

i've mostly had my day planned out since december haha. i'll have to go to school that day, but it's the last full day before a break so after school it will be Animal Crossing Only time. i've yet to decide if i want a physical or digital copy, but which ever i get will be gotten immediately after school lets out. i've been planning out what i'll do once i get a map i like (if map resetting is still a thing), which is get materials lying around to craft tools immediately, shake all the trees for bells/furniture/fruit, collect all the resources i can, try to build storage (dresser, closet) and put excess inventory items in it, gather literally all the flowers i can reach to start hybrid breeding near my house immediately, find all the buried items and dig them up, and buy everything at nooks and plant all the saplings and flowers(things seem to take a while to grow now!). after all of those tasks are done i'll probably spend the rest of my time talking to my villagers, catching fish and bugs to start those collections and earn some bells, and checking these forums for fruit trades and seeing what everyone has to say about the game so far. i have never been this excited planning something lol

I've got to hire someone to put a screen protector on the switch when it arrives.

I will literally screw it up.
I'm all thumbs.

That's nuts. I offered to pay EB Games to put it on before shipping it, and they won't.

Do they not know how?
I've even watched a heap of Youtube videos on how to do it, but I've tried it in the past, with my old 3ds and with almost every phone I've had, and I may as well have hurled money in the gutter.

I can't put them on. LOL

EB games doesn't want liability, they can be blamed for manufacturing or shipping defects. For the screen protector, go to best buy. Buy it there and ask them to apply it, if they screw up they use a new one for no additional cost. I had a guy do it five times before he thought it was perfect, would've cost me over a hundred dollars.

I meant EB Games AU. :)

While reading your post i can feel i am already playing the ACNH already lmao. Nice plan there

i’ve started saving up for the switch lite, new horizons and a switch online subscription. i’ve also figured out what i’ll name my character and island, what native fruit i want and a general idea of what villagers i want which’ll likely change between now and march 20th aha

The liability thing isn't regional, just a way for companies to cover their own butts
Derp I realised you meant best buty. Hmm maybe take it to a cell phone repair shop? They usually have a lot of exp with screen protectors

I requested the 20th thru 27th off. Picking the game up as early as Gamestop will let me then call my sister and start the game up together through the phone as we make our characters and explore our towns. I'm dying for this connection with her again!!!

Nothing really. Just passively thinking of a town name on and off and that's about it. Looking at Switch supplies because I don't already have one. I preordered the AC themed one which comes on the 13th. So, just looking at any accessories not included that may be helpful.

I luckily won't have classes or clinicals the day it's released so I'll get to pretty much binge for the weekend.

I requested the saturday off and then I realized that my convention I'm going to is that weekend. Oh well. I already told my husband I am going to pick it up first and then we can go. We will still get there pretty early to check into the hotel, so I might get to play some before we have to wait in line. It is going to be my waiting in line game this year instead of bringing my knitting.

I'm old, which can be a drag at times but the "up side" is that I am retired, and have no obligations to go to school or work on the 20th or ever. I would rather get the game on a cartridge instead of downloading it, so I pre-ordered it from Amazon and hopefully it will arrive that afternoon. My boyfriend does not play Animal Crossing, but he understands! His hobby is ham radio and there is a new radio that he wants that is being released on about the same day, so with any luck he'll have that and will be discovering what it can do while I play my new game. Plus, he will probably be working Friday and Saturday nights, so he'll be busy and that will give me even more time to play ACNH.

Meanwhile I am completely stuck in my efforts to think of a good island name. I could use one of my ACNL town names but they seem a bit "used" and I'd like something fresh. If I knew it was, or wasn't, limited to 8 characters, it would be easier to think of one. The same is true for a character name.

My Amiibo cards are in numerical order in a carrying case, plus Rover who is my only amiibo that isn't a card. I updated my Switch, which I bought a long time ago for this game. I seldom use it, because mostly I have been playing ACNL during this long wait until the ACNH release date.

Instead of buying an ACNH Switch, my plan is to buy a Switch Lite so that I can have two islands, and perhaps some additional amiibo cards. But I want to wait until we have more information before I buy any of that.
