Me and my Mom do Christmas, usually there's a bit of gift-giving, although this year we decided that we'd do less gift-giving in favour of getting to get way more food and go do more fun activities (like going to see movies or to restaurants).
Weve always opened gifts in the morning and nowadays we usually go to the pub to see family and friends around the corner then go home and have roast dinner later and thats about it really. I used to see my dad every time for christmas and he would take me to a christmas light show and then go to the pub (which was always really boring) and leave me and my sisters to do whatever i visit him on boxing day now lol
We don't have any traditions actually, we mostly stay at home and having a nice dinner, sometimes doing something spontaneous like going on a little tour for example.
To turn into a lazy slime that's fusing deep to the warm floor heating whenever there's a chance.
(actually my family/friends always tell me that they're as though gonna hear the actual sound that's made when they try to detach me from the floor by force.)
- eat excessive amounts of candy (especially Ferrero Rocher and those orange peel things)
- watch movies and specials like Rudolph, A Charlie Brown Christmas, and the first 2 Home Alones
- presents!!!
- enjoy the smell of the tree
We celebrate Christmas! On typically the first Saturday of December, we put up the tree and ornaments. My siblings and I alternate who puts the star/angel on top of the tree each year (it was mine this year). We also bake sweets and stuff!
Typically my grandparents and my household get together and we exchange presents and hang out and eat food on Christmas Eve. Christmas Day we get up early, open presents, and then spend the whole day in our PJs. We sorta do things ourselves on the day, but we watch Christmas Movies and stuff!! My mom always makes a special dinner and/or breakfast. We all just use our presents and be happy, its really nice.
New Years counts too! Its pretty subdued, we used to have parties, but now we just hang out until midnight and drink cider.
This year might be a little different though, cause my sister moved out. We might go to her place, she might to ours. Its up in the air honestly, but it'll still be Christmas. I'm gonna miss waking up and bugging our parents to come outta their room in the morning though, since it'll just be me and my bro. Gosh, we're getting so old.
For the past few years at my father's, on Christmas Eve, we have an awesome seafood feast! Like Thanksgiving, but... seafood! We've done this every year for the past few years, it's very enjoyable.
And then the next day we get up super early, my dad gets his phone out some years and records us opening our presents. Back in the day when I was super young, he'd film us opening them every single year until the divorce... meh. But still, the best part of it all is getting to spend time with family!
After Christmas at my dad's, I usually go back to my mom's later in the day and open presents there. Sometimes we watch the Christmas parade. :0
I love Christmas. One of my absolute favorite holidays!
I am not sure about celebrating. I don't even buy a tree this year but I will visit my family on christmas. We exchange presents and get our traditionell dinner. Me and my siblings moved all out from home so it's not the same as it used to be but it's still nice to spend the day with the family and have a good time together. The 24th will still be a day to celebrate and it's wonderful. I think in the USA or UK you get your presents on the 25th or someting? ^^
my loved ones and I always drive around town looking at Christmas lights all through December :') other than that we do the typical "give gifts and then have a huge dinner" sort of thing I love Christmas jdkghd
Our winter holiday traditions usually consists of a gift exchanges amd imformal holiday gatherings at my house.
My mother, or one of my sisters, usually hosts the Christmas dinner, Another family member will host the Christmas Eve buffet.
My family is rather spontaneous and we'll tour the area, viewing holiday decorations and lightimgs. We also enjoy random activities (baking cookies, cupcakes, and other sweets) or just enjoy each others company.
My family is very religious, but I celebrate Christmas as a secular holiday, and enjoy it for the concept surrounding it. We tend to gather at someone's house (varies), greet long distant family members and eat together.
My favorite part of Christmas is the winter music (especially if it's Jazz), the lovely decorations that light up the night, spending time with my closer family and friends, drinking egg nog, all the war on Christmas conspiracy theories and occasionally the cold weather. I like exchanging gifts, too, but the materialistic aspect of Christmas isn't as important to me as the rest.
On christmas eve we would go look at christmas lights once it got dark and then come back and open presents
and then on christmas day we have all of our extended family stuff
My family is Catholic, so I usually go with them to mass on the night of the 24th. The following day we have lunch with my mother's side of the family (just my grandma, my aunt and uncle and their son now) and then we spend the afternoon at my cousins' house (father's side of the family). We usually do karaoke and watch a movie there, while the older generations gossip about relatives they haven't seen in the past 25 years and try not to bring up politics. If it were for me, I would invite a bunch of friends over (mostly because Christmas lunch with eight people is kind of sad), but I guess I'll do that once I move out and start my own family traditions.
