if you bring your own lunch! I wanna get in the habit of packing my own every day instead of relying so much on takeout during my break, but i never know what to bring besides overnight oats or a bunch of snacks like yogurt and nuts. what do you guys do?

I eat at work. My goto is a cheesesteak, but I’ll occasionally opt for the chicken sandwich.

I never brought my lunch to school. I ate whatever was in the cafeteria or I didn't eat at all.

at my campus I mostly just get fast food or a quick snack like a bag of candy. Or the school store ice cream.

I brought two peanut butter and jelly sandwiches today, a small container of Pringles, a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup, a bottled water and an apple.

Usually cheese and ham sandwiches and a bag of crisps.

My parents pack me whatever they have at home for lunch. Today was fried rice. In the past I've had steak with rice, chicken adobo (a Filipino dish) with rice, or a sandwich. (Lotsa rice dishes BTW… where my parents come from, rice is popular.)

I used to pack lunch for school but now we don’t see a reason to. Even though school lunch is… school lunch, I think I’d rather have that than eat the same things I normally have for dinner even more often. Then I would just not like eating anything I have at home.

Usually leftovers and it has to be somewhat easy to pack. If not then honestly I'll just bring either an energy drink or a protein shake 😶

When I was working for someone else I usually ate at work because I worked at a restaurant. They let us have meals since we were workers so it was a pretty good deal.

I work remotely, so I just eat whatever we have for lunch. But back when I was in grade school, I always brought pack lunch, which is usually rice and meat. In highschool and college, I just buy at the cafeteria.

I don't usually bring anything. I will just buy if I have to, but my jobs actually usually provide food, so I don't need to worry about packing a lunch.

I drive around all day for work and I pack a cooler with a crazy amount of water, some fruit snacks, cashews, protein bars, the odd uncrustable, just anything i can snack on and whatever customers give me really : )

sometimes i'll just set aside a portion of leftovers from the meal we're already having for work

if it's a short break then i'll just make something easy so that i don't have to warm it up at work (a sandwich, salad, etc.)
if i get a long break then it's leftovers, or something i'm recipe testing (ᵔᵕᵔ) (noodles, stir fry, pastas, etc.)

I work from home usually, so pretty much anything that's in my fridge, lol. When I do go to the office there's usually places to buy things, so I don't bring a lunch with me.

i've been trying to eat lunch on a more regular basis instead of skipping both breakfast and lunch and then be starving by dinner, and it's been going pretty good! i've been taking the same lunch everyday for a little over a month now, and it usually includes: a chicken lunch meat wrap with lots of lettuce and a slice of cheese. i'll usually take a couple other things for a snack like fresh fruit, jello, yogurt or a pudding cup, a cheese string or a fibre one bar.

I have been getting into a really bad habit of buying lunch when I am at work as in the morning I’m usually running late and can’t be bothered making up sandwiches. I need to get into the habit of making them the night before.

If I don’t buy lunch I will just make do with a cereal bar and I always carry a bottle of water. We get free tea and coffee at work so that keeps me going.

For a long time, my mom would pack me turkey sandwiches on like plain wonder bread with mayo. They kind of got gross and soggy and I really didn’t like them. Finally in high school, I told her what I really wanted was leftovers. My mom found a bento box and would make me a little bit of soup in the bottom to keep things warm and then she found it so much easier to just take some leftovers from dinner the night before, like rice and some stir fried veggies, and I was so much happier and she was so much happier. I wish I had said something sooner!! As an adult I’ve learned that I seem to prefer warm food for my lunches so I’m really more happy when I’m able to find a place with a microwave. So usually I make a Tupperware full of something from dinner the night before, like some pasta, or a rice bowl. If I do bring something cold like a salad or sandwich I prefer sandwiches a little more fancy like a grilled chicken breast on a ciabatta roll or with aïoli or pesto. Actually I like using fake veggie chicken strips because I worry a little bit less about them going bad, not sure how accurate that is though. When I bring snacks to work, I like having some fruit, usually sliced, and maybe some cheese. I also like having some mixed salted nuts, and I’ve enjoyed having granola bars in my pocket or those apple sauce squeeze containers as something available when I’m running around.
I’m glad I have an office again so I can have a place to stash my teacup and all the honey and other stuff I like to put in my tea. I also keep these hot savory cereal packets in my desk for emergencies. I grew up on this powder that made like black sesame paste/drink stuff, but then my friend in college showed me the savory kind that has some seaweed and dried veggies and some sort of grain base, and I really like them as a quick filling savory snack or meal replacement!

During the pandemic, I really loved watching YouTube videos of Japanese women packing bentos for their kids or their husbands. I had read about them a long time before that in a book, about how some moms would get really crazy with their kids bento decorations and it was like this badge of honor or bragging sort of activity in a sense (well, more that it was shameful not to have a creative cute bento, which is sort of unfortunate), but anyhow somehow being able to watch the YouTube videos was really calming. and mouthwatering!

when I was in school, I would take a sandwich, some chips, something dessert like, and a drink. It’s sometimes varied a bit, but it was usually those general things listed.
