What do you collect?

I collect enamel pins! It's a great way to support independent artists and they don't take up too much room or cost a whole lot! You can wear or display them too. Recently I started to collect AC pins too so thats exciting!

I have a small collection of AC pins, they’re awesome and fun to collect. I even have a bell tree pin off Kickstarter, I love it!

I used to collect ramune bottles. Back when I was in middle school that stuff was much more on the fringe of culture, so when I found out my local asian supermarket had like 20+ flavors I vowed to try all of them! And they had such cute packaging that I wound up washing and displaying them haha! Honestly they all just tasted very artificial and chemically without much differentiation.

Crystals! Always have since I was a kid, and I stopped for a while but dived right back in two years ago. Honestly my whole family on my mom's side has always had a thing for crystals. I didn't really think anything of it until the other day when my mom, my partner, and I were all chatting and it got brought up. I collect crystals, my mom collects crystals, my grandma collected crystals, her mom did..... it never really registered that it's not "normal" to go to someone's house and there's just a "rock table." It's a shame none of them found out about wholesale rock shows, because I just did last week and I could have been saving.... so much money.

Pokemon cards. I'm not as into it as I used to be, but I collect them for the art and trying to "complete" the dex as opposed to specific card lines. I have a space for each pokemon and individual forms (even if it's empty, I have the spot labeled), and when I have multiple of the same Pokemon I'll just select my favorite as the one to display in the front. Also have sections for item-ish cards, jumbo cards, and special ones like gym leader/evil team cards and delta species. I have full arts/megas/GX/shinies in their own little tiny card books I got from those special card sets. Also have some of the pokemon card tins dedicated to coins and other small related collectables.

Stuffed animals too. They're so hard to get rid of because I already struggle with hyperempathy with inanimate objects, much less ones with little faces!!! And then like everyone I love has probably gotten me one at some point. AND whenever I have an interest that has good looking plushes I probably bought them. I've loved Pokemon for most of my life, and there's a chain of anime shops in a couple of local malls, that sell amongst other things bootleg Pokemon stuffed animals, even of ones that The Pokemon Company never bothers releasing. They even have shinies! So naturally when I was in high school and had nothing else to spend my free money on.... a lot of it went to cool stuffed animals. That I'm too mushy to get rid of for space OTL

Those are the big ones. I'm a collector at heart, and have gone through many a collection (barbies, monster high dolls, makeup, amiibo and amiibo cards, cute erasers, tarot decks at this point, stickers and stationery, hell candy wrappers once upon a time....) but these are the most interesting to tired me.

pocky boxes - ok it sounds weird but i always save them after i eat bc some of the boxes (strawberry, cookie and cream, etc) are cute 👉👈

I used to do that in middle school. I ended up trying quite a lot of flavors. I think the lychee one was my favorite.

I collect vinyl records! Currently I own 30 albums.

ok bringing this thread back to life because i wanted to say that ive started collecting vinyl records and it is so much fun
i have an average setup that sounds so incredible and makes me appreciate it even more
i started collecting in 2019 and as of now, i have around 40-ish records (3 of them i stole from my sister hehe)

for my favorite artists, i like having at least one of their albums (typically my favorite) and for my allll time favorite artists, i'm trying to get everything they've released on vinyl
my most expensive record is GINGER by BROCKHAMPTON which i only bought for like 35 bucks but apparently it was a limited edition and is worth upwards of $180 right now which is super cool. (also it has my name printed in the lyric booklet because i was one of the first however many people to pre-order which is so fun)

i literally never collect things and i've always been super non-sentimental so i don't have a lot of stuff but i love music and vinyls are fun to collect and play because imo, with the right setup, they can sound so much better than what my current technology allows (spotify and headphones or a speaker lol)
also something about having the actual music in your hands and setting it all up and taking care of my records is so fun to me lmao idk why

but thats all i have to say bye bye

ok sike i just remembered my dream record which is the black friday pressing of frank ocean's blonde which was limited to 1000 copies and goes for upwards of $900....... it would be a dream come true if one day i could get my hands on one of those records but i don't have that kind of money to blow on a record lol

Wow! I collect enamel pins too!! I love them a whole lot. I’ve also recently made my own enamel pin as well!

I also collect Animal Crossing Amiibo cards! I only have 18 so far (excluding the special cards), but my collection is growing!

Small turtles. Made of stone, metal, plushies or necklaces, whatever.
I don't know why but i have 30 of them already haha they're cute

I'm a chronic hoarder and don't understand moderation when it comes to being interested in things which has led to me owning literally Hundreds of crystals, a lot of books, and more recently over a dozen houseplants

State and landmark quarters-I’ve completed my state set (only one set cuz I’m not a perfectionist there) but I’m missing a fair amount of the landmark set.

I also like rocks but I’m not a big collector in that area.

I collect plants! :) Usually tradescantias, pelargoniums, and coleuses, but I love any red/purple plants in general. I'd love to have an entire wall of purple plants one day!

I like to collect:

- Physical copies of albums (mostly CDs as vinyl costs restrict how much I can purchase)
- Video game consoles and physical copies of games (mostly stuff on Nintendo and Sony consoles)
- Figurines, cards, and plushies of my favorite characters (Nendoroids, Figmas, amiibos, amigurumi dolls, etc.)
- Authentic NHL jerseys
- Manga/comics (usually only my favorites which are a lot of single issues or collections)

i collect quite a few things!! and i love talking about them!! C:
  • toys (one of my biggest special interest)
  • solar powered bobble heads
  • coins (foreign coins, tokens, etc.)
  • mary moo moo figurines
  • porcelain animal figurines in general^^^
  • snail shells
  • cool rocks
  • temporary tattoos
  • funko pops kind of? i only get the ones i like and open them like a gremlin
  • fairy garden stuff kind of? you know like the figures, garden gnomes, little houses. i have a fairy garden at my house and that's where they go
  • tags, candy wrappers, stickers, etc. they all go in a little journal i have

Currently in the process of having my entire room re-done, so I don't have much capacity to collect stuff rn, but currently I have a small collection of classic lit novels and fantasy novels in storage (my two fave genres) .

I have a Nintendo handheld console collection consisting of a DS Lite, a 3DS, and a Nintendo Switch.

I also collect tourist-y type mugs from every different country I've been to (currently only the Netherlands since I haven't been able to travel this year RIP).

Once I get my room sorted out I'm definitely buying a turntable and starting to collect vinyl records!
