I used to collect the Starbucks Reserve cardsāthe nicely designed cards that come with each bag of coffee with the description of the beans in the back. My college town's Starbucks used to have a little shelf with them so people can take extras. I used to have one wall in my bedroom filled with them!
Seems like they don't give them out for free anymore where I live, so hard to collect them unless I buy beans... but I prefer coffee beans from smaller roasters so my collection has been stagnant
Cat stuffed animals. I collect cat stuffed animals. Esp Japanese ones.
I also collect, surprise! dolphin stuffed animals. Yes I am an adult. No I will not stop.
Other than that, I'm tryin to get all the Rune Factory games, I have 4, Frontier and Tides of Destiny should be comin this Saturday. I also want to collect all the Animal Crossing main series games, I'm missing GameCube and obv Japanese localizations, along with E+.
Given the amount of boardgames I have, I feel like they should be considered being part of a collection, and I don't even have a gaming group... yikes! I also collect currency specifically coins but I do have a few paper notes saved, as well as, unique decks of cards "standard 52-card deck" (usually from places I've been or from antique stores).
When I went to America in 2014 (New York City plus the State of New York & Orlando, Florida). I took an interest in collecting the quarter coins because it had engravings of different state on the back. I would hoard the quarter coins or ask for change in quarters and look for different designs of different states (year of production also mattered) and before I knew it, I had a collection of American quarter coins
Other collection that I have a mild interest in is probably collecting board games but in this day and age, it's hard to find like-minded people to sit down and enjoy a boardgame session without the interference of electronics
Yes, the National Park Quarters from the "America the Beautiful Quarters program", those range from 2010-2021. Each year they release 5 new designs including 5 states that haven't had a coin design yet. You also have to look out for the mint mark (the letter at the front of the coin) P for coins produced in Philadelphia and D for coins produced in Denver, there's also an S for coins produced in San Francisco, but those are coins you have to buy because they're uncirculated and/or come with proof of authenticity. I actually have a coin album for these quarters, only for P and D mint lol (but it's no where near complete )
My fellow boardgamer! I get the struggle, finding people that actually want to play boardgames can be quite hard.... are you familiar with bgg?
I collect a lot of plushes and figures. Specifically video game and anime related. My biggest collection is definitely all of my Sonic-related stuff. I collect both new and vintage items from the series. I also collect swords and video games. Below is my latest haul I got! GameStop was having a major discount on Overwatch merch and I saved $142. These all came to a total of $40 or less (price stickers aren't correct, these were like $3-$5 a piece discounted):
^^Wow less than $40 for all that? That's amazing!!
I really enjoy collecting plushes and figurines from my favorite vg franchises! The main thing I've been collecting lately is the Funko series An Afternoon with Eevee & Friends, where so far I have Eevee, Vaporeon, Sylveon, and Glaceon. Flareon should be released within the next few days and I'm gonna order it asap! Aside from that I have a ton of figurines, including amiibos, with my favorite ones in front of my computer monitor.
I really need a tiny Waluigi figurine lol
I don't have a whole bunch of plushes because they tend to be pricey, but right now I have a really big Super Mario plush, a Shy Guy, a shiny Umbreon, and (not vg related) a bunch of animals that I really like. I do have a few at the top of my wish list though, like a plush of Wario and Waluigi, a Thwomp, and ofc Luigi!
OH AND I ALMOST FORGOT, I also collect posters!! I have so many, prob at least 15-16 different ones. Most of them are Super Mario posters, some are other franchises like Zelda, Kid Icarus and Pokemon, and others are things that I really like such as Back to the Future and some black light posters. I don't even have enough wall space to hand them all up lmaoooo.
I actually collect a lot of things! I collect coins, flags, video games, soda bottles, computers, some amiibo, phone boxes, and plushes. Not sure why I like collecting things so much but I just do.
I've been collecting coins for a long time, since January 2013. It's something my mom used to do. I mostly collect coins from the USA, but I do have a few international coins too. I collect flags too, many of them are pretty old. I collect video games. I have a 3DS, DS lite, and an Atari 2600. I have games for those too, maybe not a whole lot but I also have Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival, just for the amiibos. I collect mostly vintage soda bottles too, I do have Coca Cola and Fanta from Japan though that aren't that old. I also bought a few bottles of Crystal Pepsi when they rereleased them. I have several computers, they're all pretty old and really not usable today but they still work. I think my oldest one is over 20 years old. I got several Animal Crossing amiibo of Mr. Resetti, Kapp'n, Mabel, and Isabelle and Digby from the Amiibo Festival package. I have a few phone boxes, one of them is an iPhone 5S from my dad from 2014 or so and I think I have an iPhone 6S and iPhone X box. And I have a few stuffed animals from childhood that I keep.
I collect books about witchcraft and demonology! I'm not a practicing wiccan or anything of the sort, it's just something that I am very interested in! I also collect old books and I used to collect candy wrappers when I had a genuine hoarding problem.
I would love to get into collecting ball jointed dolls, but it's a very expensive hobby. Maybe someday!
I've collected a lot of things over my lifetime. Being adhd unlocked the inner squirrel in me or SOMETHING because I just hoard things. When I was little it used to be pinecones and sticks. Then it became cool coins (like an old person).
Now its a mixture of anything Halloween, Keroppi merch, and Pokemon plushies. The pokemon plushies (and plushies in general) have been a constant my whole life. Keroppi I've always loved but he became a special interest more recently, same with Halloween. Its kinda funny how I like cute but also spooky.
It's probably pretty common but I've been collecting foreign coin since I was like five or six years old. I also have an American coin collection where I'm trying to collect all the states (quarters) and presidents ($1 gold coin). I like it because there's no rush in obtaining them. They're like a nice little surprise that randomly comes to me.
I don't really collect anything material like coins or trading cards or anything of the sort listed throughout the thread. I acquire things I'm interested in, without much rhyme or reason linking them together categorically for the most part. Like, I have amiibo figurines, but only of certain characters and without any desire to collect all of the ones out there, like a friend of mine does. I have stuffed animals and a few plushes, but I acquire them individually and without some criteria of brand or style being met and without the intention of building up a collection.
OK, I don't collect anything but the hubbub has literally over 50 Nendoroids and about 20 figures ranging from 1/8 to 12 inch models. It's to the point where his desk area is just a harem.
