What do you do when you have trouble falling asleep?

lol nothing if i do anything that involves me getting out of bed i will not fall back asleep for the rest of the night

I usually just wait it out but if I don't have to wake up early I go on YouTube or something, stare at the screen, get out of the covers, sit in an uncomfortable position and watch until I feel horrible and then it's super easy to snuggle into bed and go to sleep. Works everytime.

Also when you wear socks in bed for like 10-15min and then take them off omg that is the best feeling ever.

^ or listen to asmr

I get like that too. Except if only in the morning.

Well, I try to fall right back to sleep. And fantasizing makes it worse, as if I do it, I don't wanna fall asleep.

I end up just getting up and doing something until I start dozing. I haven't had trouble falling asleep in ages tho

Thinking works for me. Close your eyes, get into a comfortable position, and then just think about stuff.

I'll normally just give up and go do something else. When insomnia hits, it normally hits HARD and I succumb to the fact that sleep just isn't going to come no matter what I do.

This is soooooo relatable since i do the exact same thing. I'm like, "forget it, it's useless" and turn on the TV to some adult swim or something.

But personally, i take medicine that helps me fall asleep. If i don't take it, i'm up for a long time. Longest I've been without sleep is 3 days and 6 hours (Yes, i keep count or well, my brother did).

If I can't fall asleep I just take some melatonin, which helps a bit. If I struggle to stay asleep I will take some medication my doctor gave me that helps with the tossing and turning that keeps me up.

If that doesn't work, I do some breathing/meditation practice and that calms me down enough to sleep.

i contemplate wether or not i should down a whole bottle of prescription sleep aids.
