What do you do with gifts from villagers?

i sell most of the gifts i get from villagers. its rare that they will send me something i want to keep

I usually drop it for my 2nd character so he could catalog it and/or keep it for storage. Otherwise, I just sell it. If it's a pretty good clothing item, I sometimes give it to other villagers.

I sell it if it's something I won't use or don't like or, I already have. Sometimes I may give it to another villager if it seems like something they'd wear or have in their house.

I don't usually like the things my villagers give me so I end up selling most of them. If I like it or think I can use it then I'll keep it but I don't feel bad throwing out the random junk my villagers dump on me.😆

Usually throw em out immediately lol. I used to feel bad about selling or trashing them but they always gift the same dumb things. Sometimes if I haven't changed my outfit for the day and they gift me something decent I'll wear it on the spot.

Throw them away lol.
Or keep them if it's something I've been looking for, but that's almost rarely now.

I sell most thing I get. I only keep clothes and furniture items that aren't sold in stores.

Unless its a photo, I usially toss it. but if its clotjing I try on first. But I also just mistakinly give it away,

I feel bad discarding gifts, but I really have no room for anything since Im decorating, and have things scattered everywhere.

All clothing items are immediately trashed, since they're almost always one of the same 5 things I've received dozens of before anyway. Furniture I'll probably sell, though sometimes it is something I can use in which case it gets put into storage.

It depends: if it's an item that I can work into either an aesthetically pleasing room or outfit, then I keep it. Else, I'm just selling it for some extra Bells to pay off those darned loans. I make an exception for villager photo's, though: those, I just keep.

I know it's kind of cruel, but that combined with selling turnips made short work of most of the loans in New Leaf. The turnip profits always did the heavy lifting on the total loan amount, and selling gifts often bridged that last small gap between the total loan amount left, and the amount I already had saved up. With a few Bells for spending money left over after paying that off, even! So I'm definitely keeping that gift protocol of mine in New Horizons: every little bit helps when it comes to Nook's loans, right?

They normally just sit in my player's inventory until I inevitably sell it, forgetting where it was from. I keep maybe 1 in 100 gifts since they fit my house by chance.

honestly i just throw it into storage, i'll only sell it if it's particularly ugly (like the baby clothes, skateboarding helmets, wasp head model, rugby uniforms, etc...)

I guess it depends on if I like the item or not. most of the time I usually don’t like it, but if I do end up liking it I’ll just put it in my storage. If I don’t like it I’ll just sell it right away to clear space in my inventory.

I usually end up selling them back for bells. If the gift in question is one of the outfits that I want my villager to be wearing, if usually re-gift it back to them. One great example of this is Lucky. Lucky seems to love giving me his mummy outfit however...Lucky doesn't realize that he's going to be wearing the mummy outfit until he leaves my island.

I open them and see if it's a.) something I like, and b.) something I have. If I like it and don't have it (less common with my main island, as i have a huge catalog), then I keep it. If I have it already, I drop it for my 2nd player character, if it is something it want him to have (since I play that one too - Nicholas is only 2 after all!)

If it doesn't fit either of those, then I drop it off to my character on my second island. Unless I just need it gone quickly for whatever reason, then I sell it.

You're not the only one. If I'm given something by my villagers, I'd want to keep it for as long as I can, especially if it so happens to be a rare/unorderable item. Unfortunately, my storage is filled to the brim, so I either display it somewhere on my island, keep it in my pockets (which is annoying for me), or make a tough choice of selling them. I wish we had an exhibition room like in New Leaf so we didn't have to sell things.

Same, although I don’t think I ever actually unlocked the exhibition room in New Leaf, let alone use it, lol.
