What do you think about the new switch lite? Will you get one? Or if you have one, how is it?

I have a turquoise Switch Lite and I honestly have no complaints about it! I don't have a TV in my dorm anyway, and the small size is very reasonable for carrying around. I've had mine for almost a year and it works very well.

I have the turquoise switch lite. I have had it over a year and have not had any problems with it. I like playing hand held more so no reason for me to get the regular switch.

They are so pretty! Be careful, though, as they have the same joycon drift problems the regular Switches have. However, because joycons are part of the SW lite (you can’t remove them, unlike the standard Switch) that means you’ll have to send your entire switch for repair.

Sorry for the confusion, when I said new switch lite I meant it was the newset system which came out in 2019.

snjsjsk okay i was confused at the usage of the word “new” but i think i understand now. :’) i’ve got the turquoise switch lite and i definitely recommend it! it’s lightweight, i’m able to play for a few hours at a time without any wrist or hand pains and it’s considerably cheaper than the regular switch! the only complaint that i have is the joycon drift but that seems to be a problem regardless of whether it’s the regular switch or a lite. ;v;

I'm a small person and my hands already ache holding the 3DS so I would have prefered getting the switch lite. Drifting joycons sounded worrisome though.

The current switch I have had the Joy con drift but I was able to send the joy cons to Nintendo to get it fixed. They fixed it but it took a month. If that happens to the switch lite I'm not sure I can go a month without animal crossing. Lol!!😅

ack that’s brutal - i’d honestly go stir crazy if i had to go a month without animal crossing, too. >_< my switch lite’s a little over a year old and sadly started experiencing joycon drift within the first week of gameplay but while it’s annoying, it hasn’t become a big problem so if you do decide to pick up a lite, i don’t think the drift would become a problem you’d have to do something about for a while. 😅

I had a yellow Switch Lite for a little bit, but after hearing so many horror stories about joy con drift, I got worried. So after a month with it, I traded it in for the regular one. It actually worked out well. I got the more upgraded Switch now with better battery life than my first Switch, which was one I had before the Lite. 🙂

I have the yellow switch lite which I didn't really want but Best Buy only had yellow so I had to deal with it. For a low budget person like me. it is perfect plus I prefer handheld consoles anyway. The only issue is that you can not use a capture card on it. I had mine for a year I had one button get stuck though but I took a small needle and the button came unstuck. But the colors are super pretty.

Is it better then then the original? I havent seen much about it. I bought the animal crossing addition so I dont want a new one, but the loading speeds are getting to me.

I have the turquoise switch lite and I love it. My husband had a regular switch when we got married and then sword and shield came out and we both wanted to play it so he got me one for Christmas. I love it. It’s lightweight, easy to hold and travel size.

I have both and can't complain about the lite. It's slightly smaller and noticably weighs less so it feels better in my hands compared to the regular, which I ways found big and clunky. To call it a handheld is just a bit of a stretch. Also the buttons feel better too.

I freakin' love my switch lite. I knew I would most likely use the switch in handheld mode more often than I would use it docked so I saved myself some money by opting to just get the lite instead of the regular switch. It's cute and I love the colours they have available (I bought the yellow one). It's weird because I thought I may want to upgrade to a regular switch later down the line but it has been a good couple of years now and I'm still happy with the lite. Plus the idea of dealing with joycon drift doesn't help steer my decision. Almost everyone I know with a regular switch console has dealt with drift, it really sucks - 'tendo need to sort their shiz out.

For those considering a second Switch or a new Switch, there is rumored to be a Switch update in development that will have a slightly larger screen and be capable of displaying a higher resolution.

While this has been speculated for a long time, it was all but confirmed earlier this month from this Bloomberg article: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...switch-model-with-bigger-samsung-oled-display

No idea what the price will be or if it will affect the price of the current models.

i have the animal crossing switch and i quite love the ability to go from a home console to portable, but i did buy my mom a switch lite last year as a birthday gift and it really is a nice system. it's nice to hold in hand and definitely a lot more convenient to have on the go; if cloud saves were a thing (at least for the games i play) i wouldn't hesitate at all to get one for myself as a better option for going out. at least if my switch were to get lost or stolen i wouldn't be losing everything.

If I were to get a switch lite, would I need to buy another copy of animal crossing? I own a digital copy on my husband's switch.

I own both a switch lite and a regular switch (I managed to get really good deals on both)- as someone who first experienced the lite I personally prefer the regular switch. I love how versatile and slick it is, tabletop mode is one of my favourites, the bigger screen is nice and I actually really like it handheld as well as in Tv mode. Multiplayer is the main reason I got it, I have people over regularly so it is great for that as well. However, I still love and use my lite as well. I have it in turquoise and it is a very striking and lovely shade, it's a great colour on the lite. I would recommend both consoles very highly, it just comes down to what you are looking for.

As for your most recent question, I don't think you will. One copy should be fine. It is one island per switch, not copy of the game. I am running two islands on my switches with one copy, however, I have a physical copy. I have MK8 (downloaded) on both devices which have different saves so I imagine it would work the same way with ACNH.
