What is your preferred method of travel? My favorite method of travel is the train. Bus is a close second.

By travel, I am talking about travel to different cities, states, and even countries. Not your occasional trip to the grocery store.

I forgot to add an “Other” option to the poll, if there is another method of travel I have forgotten.

I like going by public transport since it's quite reliable in my country!! Whether ya gotta go somewhere nearby or far away, the NS & HTM has gotcha covered :lemon: Though I like to go by bike when I have to go a town/a city/a few towns over as well :p
When going on out-of-country trips I like going by car the most, though I can't really complain about planes either.

I don’t really travel anymore to be honest. Used to when I was younger with my family to go see our extended family, but the last couple years I have been really busy with university and other things. I might get to go see my extended family again this spring break though! And that would be by plane. :)

I really distaste traveling; I'll try to do whatever I can to get out of it.
I haven't been on a train before, and getting on a plane is a real pain so I'd only do that if it's going to be a 24hr+ trip with other methods. I also have a slight fear of planes I think as well? I think it's more a fear of missing my flight honestly haha. Cars I don't care as much if I'm not the one driving; I may sit in there for days with no problem.

I definitely prefer to drive myself practically anywhere because I feel like I can go at my own pace (I can eat and stop anywhere I want anytime) and not have to be held hostage for hours in a place you can't get out of! xD

For sheer ease, airplanes. Besides, I love flying. With that said, I enjoy a nice train ride from time to time. Absolutely wonderful way to look at the scenery.

Driving myself probably. I really like driving, so road trips are always fun for me. Plus you can always stop and enjoy the scenery whenever you feel like it. I don't mind flying, so if I were going to a different island or country then of course flying would be my only option. I've never really taken a public coach or bus anywhere. Train systems don't really exist in my country, they're mostly for luxury or scenic tours from coast to coast. I have been on a train before though and I quite enjoyed it, but yeah wouldn't be my first choice.

I like a fun road trip, but when I’m in a vehicle, I’m not the person driving. I’m the person looking out the window at all the scenery. I prefer train and bus travel like I mentioned above because we get to see more of the world. The places that the train goes are really interesting. I love the scenery outside the window of an Amtrak train. I also love how the train has an observatory room dedicated to sightseeing and being able to sit down and take pictures. There’s also no time limit, so you can be in the observatory room the entire time. I could talk about the train all day. The only downside is that the train doesn’t go everywhere. There are major cities where train just doesn’t happen to go. I guess I understand because there can’t be railroad tracks in certain parts of the country, but I wish there were more destination options.

Airplane, even though I haven't flown in over three and a half years. Nothing wrong with going in a car, but it can be grueling after many hours. I haven't been on a train to travel anywhere long-distance since I was two years old.

Country to country I travel most often by plane. It's convenient but I get a little claustrophobic in planes so it's usually not a very comfortable journey unless I'm knocked out the whole way. If time wasn't an issue, I'd say train or driving. I like looking out at the scenery.

I really hate traveling, so I rarely ever go anywhere. If I am going to travel, I would prefer to drive so I feel more in control.

I've only been on a plane twice, from the US to the Bahamas and back. I managed the trip down okay, but on the way back, we faced so many issues at the airport that I had a panic attack. I hated the feeling of being closed up in a small space with strangers. I have never traveled by bus or train, but I imagine it would feel the same.

I've only been on a plane once, it was my first time flying and I went to go visit a friend I made online a few states over. It was kind of nerve wracking and I just barley made it on my plane home (which then got delayed over an hour because of snow) but I didn't mind it. My boyfriend and I love to travel and we take a lot of car trips, so that would have to be my favorite. He likes the AC blasting during the summer so I can sit and do whatever in the passenger seat snuggled in a blanket year round.

I would rather drive places myself.

I can't stand public transport.

Buses and trains are always late, delayed and/or cancelled here. With busses, the amount of times I've missed appointments etc because I've been stood waiting for an every 10 minute bus service is ridiculous. "Set out earlier" people say, but considering I could (and usually did) set out an hour early and still arrive 30 minutes late say a lot about the state of public transport here.

In regards to trains specifically, the last about 6 times I've tried to get a train thinking it would be easier (city centre traffic and parking can be a nightmare) they've been cancelled and replaced with a bus service...Which was also running late and somehow managed to make the 30-60 minute trip back from there last about 5 hours 3/6 times I got it, somehow with no traffic...Oh, plus it costs a bomb compared to literally every other form of transport for some reason. I absolutely hate the train service in this country, we may as well get rid of it for how much use it is, from my experience at least.

Plus the amount of weirdo's you get on public transport. I'm fairly capable of 'handling myself', but even then there's been more than a few occasions I didn't feel safe, I can only imagine how others felt. Poor hygiene (both the bus and some passengers), constantly raising prices, poor schedules and time keeping, no heating most of the time. Just awful.

Since I've been driving though, I would sooner sit in hours of traffic than deal with the hassle of public transport. Slap on my own music as loud as I want, heating and air conditioning, eat and drink (in traffic or when parked at least), the sat nav doubles up as a video player so I can watch TV/movies whilst I eat (ONLY when parked), I can stop off at a service station for a bit if I want, take a detour somewhere else 'just cos', the only weirdo's that are going to be sat next to me are the ones I allow in my vehicle...Plus the added personal benefit that I can claim expenses on a lot of my travel. It's basically like being at home, but it's on wheels and I can't go to sleep.

When I was a teenager I started getting motion sick on long trips, which has made travel infinitely more sucky. I miss the days when I could read in a car for hours with no problems. I picked my own vehicle because being surrounded by other people when you're feeling ill is actually the worst. In a private vehicle, you can stop anytime you want for food, drinks, fresh air, tourist stops, pretty scenery, etc.

I still like and want to travel though, because I want to see the world, and travel is necessary to do that.

Wow, nobody chose the Coach Bus yet! I can understand why because I know that Greyhound has this bad reputation for being absolutely terrible, but I actually like riding on the Greyhound and other Coach Busses.

I have rode on many different bus companies. I like how Greyhound goes to a lot of different locations, even though the delays can be aggravating. I have experienced a number of delays during my Greyhound trips. One was partially my fault, but the other times were the fault of Greyhound.

Definitely train! I don?t mind planes for international travel but I absolutely hate travelling by boat as I get suuuuper seasick. I did an overnight coach/bus journey from London to Paris once too and that was horrible too but it just have been the company we used as it was super cheap and the seats were uncomfortable as heck. I love trains though <3

Driving by car is all I ever done but I really enjoy road trips. So long as I have my music and video games with me. The only problem I have though is if one of my siblings are being really louda and annoying. I bought expensive soundproof headphones just so I don’t have to listen to them.
