What song is stuck in your head right now?

There's just something about this Mott the Hoople song that really gets to me. It's about a woman whom the singer meets, gets acquainted with, and suddenly moves away. He sings about his unrequited love leaving him behind, feeling the pain that trying to reach her now would be near-impossible, but never gives up hope. I can relate to this song for a couple of girls in high school I were good friends with, but they decided to leave me in the dust shortly after graduation and have subsequently never heard from again. Ever since then, I've had little success trying to build up a relationship with someone simply because of both a high commitment to my job and a lack of putting myself out there.

The middle part of the song with the guitar solo (by Mick Ralphs, who would later form Bad Company with Paul Rodgers) sounds so good, that I actually start to tear up sometimes. I don't know why, but Ian Hunter specifically made several songs throughout the 70's and 80's that I've really liked. It's not this way on every single bit of his discography, but there's a good chunk from both Hoople and his solo career that really stands out to me.

the Panem anthem lol. I listened to it ONE time and now it's all that's been in my head for the past 4 days

A new favorite I recently discovered this week from another band I rarely hear about. It starts getting really catchy around 45 seconds in. The singer, Maggie Bell, has some Janis Joplin similarities in her vocals. Her vocals aren't as rough as Joplin's, but are unique enough for me to get hooked to.

Of note, the bassist for this album and their debut, James Dewar, would later pair up with former Procol Harum guitarist Robin Trower for all of the latter's 70's solo albums, and would also sing lead on all of Trower's songs from the period as well as a few Stone the Crows songs.

Another favorite of mine from the same album that's also catchy.

only one of many songs I've heard today, yet this one sticks out to me. it was in my head a few days ago as well.
