What will you do differently in this game than new leaf?

My list is extremely similar to Khaelis's.

I plan on not time traveling, as I want to enjoy the flow of the game day by day.
I also plan on going with the flow for my town. Instead of having a theme, I want my island to have more of takeaway or a message/vibe to carry from it. I want it to be memorable and one of those towns you can go back to for a rejuvenating experience.
I want to complete my encyclopedias and exhibits for the first time without any help (unless it's that one tedious fossil lol). I've never completed the museum, so I would love to see how this one would turn out once it is finished.
Lastly, I want to work for everything in this game and not restart if something does not look right or go my way. I haven't done any major planning for my town, but I do want to work hard to make this island a place I enjoy living on. I want it to be a safe space I can escape to :>

the only thing i am doing really differently is going in with a general plan for my island (organizing where things will go) instead of just going with the flow !! in new leaf, my town was overgrown with random flowers and stuff i'd dump everywhere, and just looking at the mess stressed me out LOL

For me the biggest thing is no restarting aside from the initial resetting for airport color/fruit.

Also, I don't want to be tempted toward the pursuit of Dreamies. Hoping for villagers on the more vibrant side, though. In the past I have always favored more neutral and natural colored animals. This time I want lots of color pop!

Playing it the same way as ACNL. Going in blind and figuring things out as I go. Completing the museum like I did in all of my towns and getting all items except region lock on my own.
Time will be set 4 hours early like ACNL on the first day. A year into gameplay I'll jump one day ahead.

I would like to finish my town since most of my acnl towns are not finished. I also do not want to limit myself to a themed town and just enjoy the randomness of each area to expand my creativity. Another change I want to make is having villagers in my island that I do not have yet. There are plenty of not popular villagers and other dreamies I have not obtained yet to have an opportunity to "meet". As much as possible, I want to try to get as many items on my own before trading with others.

Not reset my island every couple of months. I will also try harder to 100% and do everything, dig deeper into the game.

I'll probably take things much slower this game, I really want a good experience that will have me playing for the years to come!

Oh! I may withhold from upgrading from the tent to a house for a while
I kinda want to experience the idea of camping in a deserted place for a much longer time before progressing into a decked out island c:

I'm not going to rush to get dream villagers.

I also want to be more relaxed about my island and not feeling like it has to be perfect. It's just a game after all :)

Be more self sufficient like you. I really want to work on the completion of my critterpedia?s and museum mostly.
Also no manipulating that economy and I really hope others think this way too.. if duping is possible please don?t inflate the market with your bells, mama. It?s so rude.

My only real plan is to not let other people's opinions of what makes a good map influence my opinion of the game. It's what ultimately lead me to abandon New Leaf. I'll reset until I get a general layout I like and then we will stay with it. Thanks to terraforming anything I don't like can be changed later.

Oh boy there are a few things.

1. I TTed in every single AC I was just bored in every game. I wanted to make progress ^^ I am used to hunt for platin trophies on PS4 and I try to get all out of the way as soon as possible and then there is AC. One day is one day. You can't play faster or slower but I will really try to not TT at all and be patient. At least there is so much more to do now! And there isn't so much waiting time with the PWPs.

2. Complete the museum. I was never able to achieve this goal!

3. I try not to be picky when it comes to villagers! I have a set of 'dreamies' and oh my I was so bored after my town was all done and there wasn't anything left to do..

the main thing is that i'm going to try and not be such a perfectionist and try to just enjoy the simplicity of the game. idk if i'll succeed or not but i'll try.

I’d like to say I won’t TT but with working weekends I’m frightened I’ll miss something, but I’ll definitely be restricting myself If I do!

I really want to take my time and enjoy the game as much as possible, before I’d quickly skim through dialogue and rush everything whereas this time I want to take things slowly, and that also means getting to know the villagers more (even if they’re not my dreamies)

I think I’ll only scan Maple in as well, I want the chance to experience different villagers and the excitement when one of my dreamies shows up unexpectedly!

I also want to earn most things myself - hybrids, furniture etc. My list isn’t really that different from yours!

i want to:

1. finish the museum
2. unlock all buildings
3. finish my whole town
4. have a few select dreamies but I have a whole list of villagers I'd be happy to keep around!
5. set a theme for the houses

With New Leaf, I was super focussed on the trends in the community and wanted to follow it. Everyones town was so pretty and organized and I wanted to have my town as pretty as theirs, but I never really saw the style as my own and it's why I eventually got bored of playing NL.

With this game, I'll be working at my own pace, in my own style. I also don't want to rush things as much as I did in NL. I'll probably not upgrade my tent for a few weeks, nor get any additional villagers or shops. I want to get a feel of the actual island being deserted before I develop it fully. I'll be using the DIY crafting table a lot and rely on nature before I commit to bell-spending. I think that way it would feel much more organic and natural. Like an actual town developing. ^^

I really want to plan my idea for my island?s design from the start! In ACNL I only really got into landscaping and properly designing my town pretty late into creating it so I want to put more thought into things from early on this time

Yeah, no time traveling and no resetting. I just want to stick with it and not go crazy over things I can't change.

I want to really build a connection with my villagers, write them letters, do them favors and so on. I never cared for that in previous games and always refused to do anything for them. But since we're all stranded on a deserted island, I feel like we should really build a community and be there for each other. :D

And I also don't want to time travel anymore.

I have a really relaxed play-style so probably much won't change but I'd love to push myself to get back into fishing! I loved it back in WW but in NL it never felt like a worthwhile time investment when catching beetles on the island was so much more profitable. Grass wear in NL also happened super quickly along river banks where you'd be walking up and down looking for fish constantly so I kind of lost my love for it. Not sure if that second part is in NH but hopefully it's more viable now, I always enjoyed how calming it was compared to sneaking up on bugs.
