What's the last movie you've seen?

Last Friday's episode of The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs featured a pair of Jaws rip-off giant killer animal movies; director Lewis Teague's 1980 movie Alligator followed by director William Girdler's 1976 movie Grizzly. I'd never seen either of them before but I knew of their existences; I'd seen their titles in lists of horror movies in the past, and I'm pretty sure I'd seen Grizzly's cover art on like IMDB or some such. They were pretty goofy and fun.

I saw Field Of Dreams(1989) recently. The premise is a bit corny(heh) but the movie is not and you don't necessarily have to be a baseball fan to enjoy it.There is a sci-fi/fantasy element to this movie but it's more of a sentimental and nostalgic homage to the game of baseball.

The last movie I watched was the movie Joy Ride (2023) the one that is currently in theaters, I saw it on Saturday. I really enjoyed it, there was some raunchy humor in it which I generally don't like but it wasn't so over the top that I was uncomfortable. I also liked that it wasn't all comedy and that there was some pretty serious moments in it too.

I watched a bootleg of Heathers this morning, and it had the majority of the OG cast! Sadly no Ryan or Jessica, but their replacements did amazingggg.

I watched Eternal Summer (2006) last night! I didn’t know what it was about at first and mainly watched it because I liked the cover on letterboxd LOL it was a good film, left me feeling gaslit tho 😭
also watched the curiosity of Benjamin button yesterday!

The season finale of The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs ended a few minutes ago and they finished the season with a zombie double feature.

The first movie was director Jorge Grau's 1974 movie Let Sleeping Corpses Lie, though it's known by a few other titles, one of which being what it was referred to throughout the showing tonight: The Living Dead at Manchester Morgue. I watched it for the first time a few years ago during one of my annual, month-long horror movie marathons in October. Good movie and it was nice to revisit it.

The second movie was director George A. Romero's 1985 classic Day of the Dead, the third movie in his "of the Dead" series and my personal favorite of his. Though I love Night of the Living Dead and the original 1978 Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead just has a bit that puts it on top for me; the zombie effects look their best, the kills are very memorable, the characters, tone and setting are great, and it has a great soundtrack. Speaking of which, if anyone's a Gorillaz fan and didn't know, the intro to their song M1 A1, where the guy is saying "Hello, is anyone there? Hello? Hellooooo?", along with the accompanying music that's set to, is from the intro of this movie. It's a great movie, so if that's of any interest, I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it.

I wasn't sure whether to watch it tonight since I plan to watch it on November 1st or 2nd to coincide with Día de los Muertos as per personal tradition, but I figured I might as well just go ahead anyhow since I love the movie. It was neat since they got Lori Cardille, Terry Alexander, and Jarlath Conroy, three of the important actors in the movie, to show up for a few segments to discuss their time filming the movie and discuss the film's legacy and such.

All in all, had a good time. A shame the season is over, but looking forward to whenever their next special is.

The last movie I saw was The SpongeBob Movie
I don't know why, but I am on such a Spongebob kick right now it is ridiculous, most likely because my brain is spiking and needs something that I don't have to focus on, but know exactly what is gonna happen anyway.
Plus everybody knows what happens (unless you don't, then I highly request that you go ahead and find it to watch somewhere or at least read the synopsis) It isn't the craziest, most extravagant, or in depth film you'll ever see, but damn it has me in such a nostalgic hold.

Not really a movie, but I finally did manage to watch the whole season of Loki. Took a while because I was watching it with my sister when both of us had the time. It was pretty good and I am looking forward to season 2.

Just finished The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.

It was pretty good! A little flowery, but good.

Watched the movie Sunshine last night. It was really good until like, 3/4th through the movie. Then it got weird and nonsensical and not as cool.
