What’s the worst experience you had on TBT?

Luckily I didn’t have any bad experiences here! Curious if any of you have, though

Unlike the real world, people here are nice to me. I haven’t been here long but I’m fortunate enough to have not had any bad experiences. I hope it stays that way.

Worst memory: being TBT impoverished for years, especially that moment when I was on the shop page with toy hammers still in stock and not having the cash money to grab one but being too late for limited fruit. Truly brutal market sometimes.

Here are some but they're lighthearted (mostly collectible related TBH) :

I believe I was the second person to finish the Woods Expedition 2 a few year back... first finisher (@King Dorado) got the super super rare Dark candy and Pink candy collectibles. grrr.

(ongoing horrible experience) my two closest friends here BOTH have Golden Egg collectibles and I'm constantly like the 3rd person to get all the eggs at easter. they also just never display them which adds to the horrible experience ( @Rosetti @Monkey D Luffy )

When they finally made group add-ons a thing again and our little subgroup here at the time was able to buy one (after a successful petition), but they were 42 THOUSAND tbt bells. Then we did buy it, and then groups just got killed again anyway

Obscure, but in July 2015 there was like a week of lag you absolutely would not believe

TBT Wedding threads all-in-all were a horrid experience

All 8 times TBT Mafia died miserably and then crawled back into existence, with subsequent drama

The first time @Thunder entered my collectible discord server

All of 2017 which I kinda think everyone collectively forgets

There was one moment that almost made me quit the forums actually. I was trying to show support towards a certain person who was sad about a certain situation, and then another person started accusing me of ulterior motives and that I wasn't allowed to be in an LGBTQ support thread.. Even though it was to show support and encouragement, and the person I was actually talking to appreciated what I was saying. It was made very clear by a few members though that I, as a straight female, was not welcome there and I was invading their safe space. Honestly, that interaction made me really afraid to be open about supporting LGBTQ in case I was going to be accused of something. (I still do show support anyway, but it just triggers my anxiety now.) That was a very long time ago, but I still think about it a lot..

However! The majority of people here are kind and generous and beautiful people. And I have never experienced anything like that since. I also don't hold it against the person involved because who knows what they might have been going through at the time. This forum is one of the best communities ever!

The only time I've really seen people at each other's throats were in political threads. Honestly, I just stay away from those..

Due to being on the internet for so long and for seeing all sorts of people, I'm kinda numb to most bad things.

You'd really have to do something bad to me in order to make me sad/mad. I'd never quit the forums over something someone did.

Edit: But honestly this place is one of the most consistently nice places to go on and I hope it stays that way!

yeah I think for me 2017 was a bad year (except for the 2017 fair, that was great). I was talking w a group of friends and they constantly wanted to stir up drama during the 2017 restocks which led to our chat thread being locked. In the months following most of those friends either left our group willingly or were kicked by me. I got some hate from members here just for being associated with the group. luckily now all of that has subsided and I'm happy to be a respected member of this community.

I'm actually glad that my old friends left the forum, even to this day they have nothing but bad things to say about this place which is absolutely ridiculous. I personally love this forum, everyone here is really lovely and I feel at home here. I guess my old friends don't know what they're missing out on.

Literally before the release of New Horizons, when people were assuming **** about the game and causing unneeded negativity surround the release. Like, assuming micro transactions were going to be a thing which has never been a thing on a Nintendo console game. Basically, people were coming up with false assumptions about the game that weren't true and it literally messed with the positive environment that the forum usually manifests itself in.

Hey all! While we don't believe bad intentions were had when making this thread, we never allow people to post negatively about other members here, even if you're not mentioning them by name. This fosters an uncomfortable environment and we'd much rather focus on users' positive forum experiences. There are many threads dedicated to worst trading/AC online experiences, and we have no issues with these being discussed.

That said, anyone who has an issue with another user or feels the need to vent about a past situation is welcome to make a thread in our Contact the Staff board and we'd be happy to discuss things further with you.
