When you're waiting for news and Nintendo gives you this instead

I really hope it's a tease for an upcoming AC direct, it'd be such a perfectly wonderful sendoff for Reggie Q3Q

I'd tell tom exactly where to stick those bells but then I'd get another warning

Don't want to bring anyone hopes down... but that's a render of Tom Nook from Amiibo Festival.

I do think either way that this could signify something coming up soon hopefully.

That is definitely a render of Tom Nook I've never seen before. It could mean something, who knows.

As Flare said, it is a Amiibo Festival render.

It could mean something but we'll wait to see.

I mean even if it's a render that's already been used (which is what I already assumed) it could still be a little tease as to what's to come in April, if anything at all.
I think Nintendo made it so that we can have the doubt, to either expect something or not. Either way, we'll have to wait until E3 for a big AC presentation.

It's probably just the social media team who came up with a cool link to the tax returns..

Although like Tohru suggests, I bet Nintendo likes giving fans these kinds of little teases to build up the anticipation. As long as it doesn't get to the point it was right before they announced Switch (the replies to the Isabelle twitter were so borderline funny/angry) I guess the anticipation is still fun, looking so forward to more news. I do hope they bring us more news soon! We've been waiting long enough now :)

I legit thought this was just an edit you made

Unfortunately, I'm not that good to make such good looking edits. :') But when I first saw this tweet,
I thought it would be an edit coming from one of those fake Nintendo accounts.

Maybe I thinking too much about it, however, what I find weird is that April 14th is the day
where the first Animal Crossing game came out, on the upcoming April 14th, said AC game
become 18 years old. Tax day is on April 15th, one day after AC's birthday (to say it that
way). Nintendo made a tweet about tax refunds and use Tom Nook, a well known Animal
Crossing character for this tweet, even if they could use any other Nintendo character,
like Mario holding a coin or even Yoshi to make a reference of the Yoshi tax fraud meme.
But nope, it's Nook. And I guess Nintendo is not dumb, knowing that AC fans would freak
out to see a tweet that has something to do with AC, since the fans waiting for any news.
So what if, yeah what if if there is really a secret message behind that tweet? April 14th =
the first AC games comes out, April 15th = Tax day, Nintendo making a tweet talking about
taxes and using Nook for it? Coincidence? After all, a Animal Crossing Direkt dropping on that
day would be a clever move from Nintendo, like "Remember that one tweet we made? Guess
what guys, we show you know what Tom Nook's gonna do with your tax refund!" and boom,
Direct drops.

I mean, like I said, maybe I just thinking too much about it, but after all, they got (not surprising)
a lot of attention from the AC fans and of course the fans start to wonder what's the meaning
about it. Who knows, maybe it was just a normal (if not weird) tweet with no message behind it,
or maybe it is a hint to something. After all, we have to wait and see what happen. But Nintendo
sure did something here with this tweet. However, if it's just about Tax day on April 15th, isn't
it a bit early to talk about it? Hm, who knows...

I agree that the PR people must have thought something when creating that tweet. April 15th is also pretty much exactly between the last Direct in February and the E3 June. I guess we have to wait and see what happens, but I hope there will be something Animal Crossing related coming up next month.

This post is actually very much a big hint that we'll most certainly have a direct or something of the sort on the 15th. The tweet features nook and taxes, tax day being on the 15th and, this specific date also being Reggie's retirement date, this just cannot be a coincidence. Also April is a good month for a direct before E3, and Animal Crossing's anniversary is on the 14th. This is just one more hint that we'll have something, don't worry.
