i'm VERY ready for the successor but i probably won't buy it until something really interests me comes out or another animal crossing is announced. i was the same way with the switch, i really had no interest to have one until ACNH came out.
This 100%. I really hate the fact that many of the retro games are locked behind a premium subscription service, especially N64 titles. I'd much rather just buy the games I want outright and play them online or not, like what Sony offers with their retro catalogue for the PS5. They don't have to be physical cartridges, but I want to have the sense that I own a game and not think about whether or not the game I'm currently playing will eventually get taken down someday because of an expiring subscription or something else. While a single subscription for the entire retro library may seem great for some, it sort of isn't for me.I hope Nintendo improves their online service, the personality of the U.I, and the method of letting people play retro games in the future as I think all of those those things held the Switch back from being among my favorite consoles. I enjoyed my time with the system a lot, but I can’t say I wasn’t disappointed in some areas.
