I been playing AC since the beginning in the game cube, I remember those were good days :). Paying the house all 4 houses needed to be in the same spot one in front of the other. I also remember the first one to finish to pay the house would get a gold statue, second one I believe it was silver and 3rd red and 4th green, If I am not mistaken. I think game cube has been one of my favorite probably because it was the first experience with the game. I also like this ACNH since it allows you to create the Island however you like. I personally was expecting something maybe different than the actual paying off your deb, nook store, able sister store. They keep having updates which is great since they keep bringing new stuff and items, but there should be like a change in the actual game. Something else to do and not the typical cutting trees, plant flowers, pay off loan, ect. What is your opinion on that? and which one has been your favorite?.

new leaf is my favorite, but its also the one ive been playing for the longest. i got it with my nintendo 3ds xl back when they first released in north america. still using the original cartridge and 3ds, but my town has changed a lot lol. i think most of the love i have for new leaf comes from nostalgia. theres honestly a good chance that new horizons might surpass new leaf once ive been playing it for long enough, but also new leaf was such a big part of my childhood!! my sister and i shared a town together for a little while :)
i think depending on what they do with the pumpkins + farming, it might be my favorite update! i just hope the updates arent just adding mor and more things to decorate your island with, because im running out of space lol. i was really hoping youd be able to 'rent' a second, smaller island from nook or something, or be able to add acres to your island. i think having new loans like those would add some longevity to the game by creating new goals instead just.... house. lol. and also more space to decorate and farm and stuff!! and gather mats. really do wish there was just a tad more content on release tbh.

Honestly new horizons only played new leaf before this. Really enjoying the more customization and freedom here. Although I certainly wouldn’t say no to more furniture.

Completely agree I hope updates are not just for items, but for changes. Renting a second Island or even a town wow that would've awesome I wish. Since the other gams have been towns but you can travel to Island it would be cool you could also buy a town something expensive yes. Something that keep you busy in the game.

I’ve played all of them but the original is my favourite for all the little events and features, wild world for the massive QOL improvements and how ridiculously unique and good the villagers are in this game and new leaf for all the stuff :D

My favourite is Wild World. It was my entry into the series and I think your first AC title is always near and dear to your heart.
I actually really loved the WW hourly music, unlike a lot of people. I also loved the designated grass vs dirt areas. The observatory and constellations are still one of my favourite features missing from following titles. Nintendo also hadn’t watered down the villagers too much at that point.
There were things that bugged me in WW. Most notable the lack of holidays and DS lite quality graphics, but on a whole I really love that game.

I’d have to say New Lead in terms of all the things you had compared to New Horizons. It was a tough call though, cus NH began to grow on me with it’s beautiful graphics hnnghhh >3<. NL just carries that bit of nostalgia for me from the old games. C:

hmmm. acnh is definitely my favorite now simply bc im more of a decorator and the decorating/town building in this game is phenomenal, but i have to say i love acnl more. i liked how vibrant the game was, i liked how everything was in the game at launch (no shade but also full shade), i liked all the shops we had to unlock, i liked how it actually felt like we had to work up to things in a way. after we finish the tutorial in acnh (after kk visits for the first time) youre pretty much set free and are able to do whatever u want. u dont rly unlock things bc by then uve unlocked everything. but in acnl u have all these pwps u have to get ur villagers to recommend which can take a century, it feels like it takes longer to earn bells, and it felt like it took quite a while to befriend a villager. the game seems more achievement based bc everything u accomplish actually felt like an achievement (& also the badges u got from Phineas were cool). in acnh it feels like the only achievement u get thats actually noticeable is a decorated island.

this isnt to say acnh is terrible. it definitely improved on a lot of aspects we disliked from acnl and the new things it added (cliff tiers & outdoor furniture r the most obvious) rly changed the series for the better. but it seems to lack any depth and any way to feel like u achieved something. there's obviously a lot more updates to the game to come still (i think we have like 3 more years of updates), but idk if any of them will fix this glaring issue. ig u could compare acnh to the sims 4 in that both look amazing graphically, but they feel like designing simulators that lack any of the character older games had. even tho i rly love acnl i dont think i could ever go back to it bc acnh's mechanics have rly spoiled me, but i'll always remember the days i played that game with fondness.

Does HHD designer count? I definitely think that’s my favorite since the decorating of rooms has always been my favorite thing to do. I can’t remember NL too well. But since it had more furniture and much better furniture, I’ll say it is my favorite until NH is complete. I love decorating outside and moving the buildings for a fee, not to mention having paths is nice; saved me a bunch of custom design slots. When I think of all the things that I liked in NL, I realize that even though those changes were pretty big and we have more inventory (pocket space), the amount that I liked in NL better kinda outweighs the few things that stand out to me in NH. I liked that nothing was locked behind a subscription, the dialogue was better in NL to a certain degree (to me), villagers visiting me, the fetch me this villager within one hour requests and hide and seek; also the interiors for some villagers seemed drastically better than in NH. Here are some screenshots of some of these things that I liked.

New Leaf is my favorite AC game, I don’t play it very much anymore though due to New Horizons.
I liked New Leaf because I remember when I first saw the trailer and how much I wanted it. I remember when my parents took me to GameStop and how excited I was to play it. New Leaf was my first Animal Crossing game and it made me so happy. I also like New Horizons but it didn’t give me the same feeling as NL.

Wild World for dialogue, New Leaf for options, PWP's, items, great graphics, NPC's, Tortimer island and tours, Main Street and all the shops, Harvey and the RV's.

New Leaf was just packed with fun.
Packed with everything NH is missing. :)

New Leaf! It was my first AC game and I still play it to this day. NH is good too but it feels kind of empty and incomplete when I compare it to NL.

The gamecube game had such a huge impact on me growing up that, honestly, no game can kick it off of it's pedestal. It's still my favorite aesthetic wise too. It really felt like an animal forest.

The first Animal Crossing game. They had a coin toss, treasure hunt, which I guess is still sort of in the game, but it requires a villager to tell you to look for it. Lighthouse duty, where you had to turn on the lighthouse for Tortimer. They had morning exercises where villagers were exercising and you could participate. They had NES games within the game itself that were playable and had saves. You could wash Gracie's car, even though I'm not really a fan of it, but it was there. You were able to run errands way more often for villagers and get gifts in return. It had a lot of different furniture styles, plus the Nintendo furniture that you could access by talking to Tom Nook and giving him codes. There was a lot in that game. Animal Crossing has removed many different features, and I miss them. But I'd say my second favorite AC game was New Leaf. New Horizons is good, but it doesn't deliver quite as much as the two I've mentioned. The best features, however, are being able to change the way you look at any given time, and terraforming.

I think I still enjoy New Leaf more. While I love being able to put furniture outside (which was a dream of mine) and the graphics and museum is amazing, I do miss that you could unlock everything at your own pace. We didn't have to wait for Nintendo to update it with stuff since it was just time-locked to certain dates or goals already in the game. I miss having a town tree. And it was my first Animal Crossing game, so it will always be the one I compare all the others to.

Looking back, I would have almost preferred if New Horizons was New Leaf 2 with different holidays and events added. With the ability to do everything we can do in New Horizons.
