I don't, BUT! I'm not here to say why, I am here to mention that I see why so many people do it! lol, it's so hard to know that I still have to wait 4 days just to have my buildings where I want them or when I want a new look, having to shuffle things around all the time takes forever and a day. I don't know why anyone would get all puffy at someone else TT'ing on their own island. Some days I wish I could get past my personal "no TT" block I have. LOL
I’m fine with people that do it but I usually don’t. If I do it’s only a day or two ahead/back and then I’m back to real time. Even that is pretty rare.
I did it all the time and extensively in New Leaf and while it didn’t exactly ruin the game for me it definitely shortened my time with it. I’d complete things in a day that would normally take a week or even a few months. It wasn’t quite as satisfying either to complete things so quickly. It made me get bored of the game much faster than if I had just played normally.
I’ve heard a lot of people get burnt out on NH pretty quickly but I didn’t have that problem. Might be time travel related but I don’t know for sure.
Anyways play the game the way they you like to basically I think that’s fine. I just personally try not to time travel.
I do, but usually within the month or avoiding events, birthdays, and things like that -- just to make it easier to move buildings, get inclines / bridges up, and occasionally to move out villagers. It just takes so long to get things moved around otherwise :')
No judgment for people that don't time travel at all or people that time travel more aggressively, though. I've definitely bought time travel items, visited islands to go fishing sometimes, etc. It just stresses me out to do it myself, haha.
I time travel a little bit, mostly to do things like getting extra monarch butterfly models from flick and a few times to accelerate the move out thought bubble transfer. And to coordinate our two switches to game the turnip market.
personally I think of it as the best kind of cheating (I don’t mean that as a bad thing!). Technically, it gives you crazy advantages in game. But to me, since the game is not competitive, it is totally an individual preference thing, and one person time traveling doesn’t effect other people except positively (like making extra items available). It’s great that you can avoid aggravation and impatience if you want by time traveling, and enjoy the slow pace and anticipation when that is what you prefer. Depending on the day I like both of those experiences.
having said all that I always means to time travel more than i do, partly because i never seems to be able to find the time to do it, and partly cause I have guilt/ anxiety issues with it that make it kind of stressful. Not related to it being cheating but because I don’t like making my villagers feel neglected/ confused. I’ve only done short trips and not much only because I am not impatient about much (yet).
now, I think I am going to go tt a little, b/c I am impatient to get a campsite villager (who I probably won’t even invite).
