Wildlife Spotting (The Poliwags Cabin)

do you all think maybe it could be another number entry? i.e. the post number or sum of post numbers if we're on the QBTMC train of thought?

What's about Harvey's Island? Are there any threads that could link to, say Reese's wedding time or anything else I may not know of?

One idea i had was that Joan (regular "bearer" of turnips) can be seen irregularly (in a game she doesn't appear in) through harv's island, in a poster from her amiibo.

However this also applies to kappn iirc who is also a "bearer" of sorts so thats probably nothing

You can also get the sanrio charachters too, I just hope it's animal crossing related.

I haven’t really known how to weigh in so far……a lot of the in-game NPCs could be “regular bearers” of something or other. The ones who appear on a somewhat randomized schedule are:

Saharah
CJ
Flick
Gulliver
Gullivarrr
Celeste
Pascal
Redd
Wisp
Leif
Kicks

The trouble is that I can’t think of a reason why one of those would clearly be The Answer more than the others, so that’s not very puzzle-y.

I agree that the “regular” bearer could also be a character who usually performs an AC task through other titles but was replaced in this installment.

Maybe it has to do with Rover appearing irregularly because of the may day event?

Doesn't he also appear on that maze thing Tom Nook gave to us once?

I get they are regular, but it's where they suddenly appear in a thread you wouldn't expect? Thats what ivebeen believing.

I still think we shouldn't discount the fact that "regular bearer" is an established, real-world, non-Animal Crossing term for certain kinds of fruit trees. Why would the staff have chosen those exact words, in that exact order, if they weren't trying to use that exact term? It's such a weird term otherwise! I certainly hadn't heard of it before I started trying to look up what on earth this riddle could mean. But I suppose stranger coincidences have happened.

Actually, Kapp’n is my favorite guess for an NPC. He’s the one who traditionally takes us to and/or from our town—in Wild World he was the one bringing you to your new home, and in NL he ferried back and forth to the island. I’m not sure how his Amiibo appearance in NH could be entered as a solved clue on this website but I like the thought!

The VAST majority of search results for “regular bearer tree” refer to mangoes, specifically—at least when I Google it. So that’s…….something…..

I've been thinking about that a lot and have been searching around... it could be double meaning - i.e. we're ON the Bell Tree Forums (our "standard bearer" for the site) which means it could be any time it appears irregularly... such as when they added Zipper's face to it during the last egg hunt. I've also tried searching for Mango in the New Horizons threads as Mango is not one of the fruits in the latest AC iteration.

I tried looking up regular bearer, but google kept changing it to standard bearer, what reasearch and where did you find it~?

Okay okay okay, big stretch here but if Mango is like the “regular bearer tree” mascot, the Internet says that Mango is one of the flavors of boba tea recently made available in-game—which is an “irregular” way for mangoes to make an appearance in an AC game. Don’t know how to translate that into a clue but ????maybe something?

I literally just tired BOBAMANGOTEA and SOFTSERVELAMP because they're the two mango items in the game lol

I thought maybe the “regular bearer” could refer to fruit trees, and looking “irregular” could refer to them obviously being different.

“If you know where to look” could refer to the golden spots where you plant bells and get money trees…

Idk where you would look for that though

so. we've considered the clue mostly using "appears irregularly" as somewhere different or unusual for it, but maybe we should briefly look at it as appearing in a different form or way compared to what would be considered usual.
