Wildlife Spotting (The Poliwags Cabin)

I feel like the answer to this is probably going to be something painfully simple, but I've been racking my brain for simple interpretations and coming up with nothing.
I've been busy today so I'm sorry I haven't been around to help much, I'll try and at least do some brute-forcing a little later. ;u;

Okay I really don't know where to look from here, so can we try to compile a list of the most logical interpretations of the riddle. (I'll edit it if you have suggestions or I think of more)

The regular bearer appears irregularly if you know where to look.

(in no particular order)
1. Zipper
"Regular bearer" meaning Zipper bearing eggs
"appears irregularly" meaning April Fools Day/ Halloweaster

2. Megan
"Regular bearer" meaning Megan the "normal" bear
"appears irregularly" meaning hard to find/new villager/no amiibo/mystery islands

3. Mango Trees
"Regular bearer" meaning Mango (Alphonso) Trees
"appears irregularly" meaning irregularly bearing fruit

4. Redd
"Regular bearer" meaning regularly brings art to island
"appears irregularly" meaning in plaza during fireworks festival

5. Jeremy/ moderator
"Regular bearer" meaning bearer of news, announcements, collectibles/currencies
"appears irregularly" meaning posting somewhere they normally don't/ looking different than normal

6.

If it’s genuinely not one of these 4 things I call BS 😭

Tbh I think we should just focus on those four things and look at everything we can to do with them, on-site and offsite. I genuinely can’t believe it could be anything other than them

"regular bearer" meaning of news, announcements, collectibles/currencies
"appears irregularly" a post in a thread you wouldn't normally see them in

I want to think it's something simple hidden in our plain sight, but at the same time we have had a LOT of people looking in a LOT of places. To the point that some have found other cabins' clues. Even if we do end up finding it before the due date I think clue #2 will forever be unspeakable on the bell tree 🤣

the thing that's making me think it's something appearing in an usual place (either in general or specifically for it) instead of something looking unusual is the use of the word "irregularly" instead of just "irregular".

I'm back with shower thoughts, for better or worse: maybe there's more meaning to "if you know where to look". If you know where to look for something, you might have a map (treasure map, island map, etc.).

Leaning on the Megan interpretation, villagers on your island (Megan, hypothetically) might not always be wandering around outside—they may appear irregularly in the museum, Able Sisters', Nook's Cranny, their house or another villager's...

Or there could be some emphasis on look, as in, something you would actively look at, like a mirror or something.

Just a reminder that if we're going by this, I've been working my way through every thread with Zipper in the title, just so people can coordinate their searches of these topics.

Already added this to the Brute Force Doc, but thought I'd mention it here as well—I checked the official Twitch page because I thought it could also fit the clue, but... no luck. OTL

Idk if this has been brought up yet but what about perfect fruits? NL related, I know. But it makes sense because perfect fruits appear 'irregularly' from a 'regular bearer'?
the thought of perfect fruits crossed my mind too, just the phrasing of "appears irregularly" really makes me think it's not because it's not like they appear suddenly or in a specific place

The official perfect fruit exchange thread from NL has already been searched according to the doc, but I'm sure there are probably other threads discussing perfect fruit

That makes sense. Honestly, the whole perfect fruit idea is good, but kind of a stretch. What else have we considered? Any threads in particular I should look through?
