I’ve never restarted my island. I stuck with my first island which gave me the blue airport and oranges as my native fruit. I didn’t reset for it either. It was just a coincidence that these are the two things I wanted. I was more excited to get started playing. The introduction phase is super tedious in my opinion. It takes too damn long and is honestly confusing for a lot of kids who were introduced to the series by this game. Flattening is one thing but restarting is a big no.
I always knew there would be an update eventually adding new stuff and so I left a few areas with that in mind, I'll go over everything and change some iffy areas too replacing them with the newer items etc. I'll be adding to my already nearly finished island, I would never start over from scratch and have to collect everything again tho, all the original stuff/variations on top of the new stuff, nah, just give me the new items.
I haven’t started started a new island in awhile, but I finally set up a new one yesterday and are now currently working on it. I had to reset a few times to find the island layout that I wanted, plus with the airport color I like and peaches. I did find it and are now happy. I know I’m gonna have fun planning it out. ^-^
I’m still in the process of building my island from 2020 and working on another one (which is mainly a hybrid breeding ground atm), so I probably won’t restart my islands. I’ve been running out of ideas for my main island Sol since I have like 5-6 spots and most of the beaches that are completely bare (I never liked the idea of “indoor but outside” builds like offices and even cafes, so those have never been a part of my islands.) thankfully with everything in the new update I think they’ll be filled easily :>
Oh no I've never reset my island and I don't plan to. I am going to start tearing down my main area where my villagers houses are and give it a revamp.
No, there's no chance I'll ever reset my island. I've put in too many hours into it and have worked too hard to get all the current DIYs, cataloged almost all of the furniture (orderable + unorderable), get all but 1 of the achievements, etc., to ever throw it away. I'd lose all motivation to play New Horizons if I did that. I'm open to overhauling my island once I have much more knowledge of everything that's been added to the game, though.
I might if I still had WiFi access at home and someone to hold items for me. I have lots of items (including Sanrio, which I got from a lovely person here) that I don't want to lose if I restarted. I literally only have wireless access at my cousin's house. He is sweet enough to allow me to use it to get updates but I don't want to wear out my welcome showing up constantly to do little stuff like trading everyday. And I'm very picky about island layout and stuff so that might take a while, lol.
Definitely not. I just can't be bothered starting all over again, especially now that I recently caught every bug, fish and sea creature. That took a lot of time and effort, completing the Critterpedia. I'll most likely just tweak a few areas around my island to include the new goodies, like the crops for instance. I need to turn my small pumpkin patch into a vast, full-blown farm, Stardew Valley style
I just set up my new island yesterday, as I now know what I want to do with my island since we can change furniture colors now. I have a certain theme I would like to do, so I’m currently working on it.
No. I've invested too much time building up my island to look how I wanted. I might change some areas or swap furniture pieces and fill what few free spaces I might still have around, though.
As of now, I'm deciding "no", I won't be resetting my island. I may change my mind later, in order to experience the "full" game from the very beginning, but at this point, I really love my island and what I've done with it so far. It's only about 3 months old too, and I have so much open, undecorated space that all of that new decor can easily have a spot too.
I started my island in July but took a big break due to burn out and just started playing again recently. Besides the areas at the bottom of my map my island is completely empty so I won't have to change up much. But I also get the appeal of restarting
I'm definitely not planning to reset my island (though I've thought about it in the past), but I am planning to make some major renovations before then! There were a few areas I wasn't happy with, and I have done very little terraforming, so I'm going to move around the campsite and some villager houses, and re-landscape a bit.
I'd also like to invite one or two new villagers, though I also don't want to ask anyone to leave. I can't wait for the opportunity to remodel some of my current villagers homes.
I've restarted and going to play slowly. I can't wait for the new update. I couldn't think of a name so went with Salem. Might make my Island into a nice town with a witchy forest and history
If it weren't for the DIY recipes and the fact my island has a lot of the new villagers, I might consider it since it's currently an apocalyptic hybrid flower heckscape I'm not looking forward to cleaning up. If the update doesn't add an easier way to dump flowers will just probably get another copy of the game so I can make a new island on my second Switch, and decide which one I want to keep as "main."
