Will you be resetting for the update?

nope. I don't really have a reason to restart. plus I'd lose all my stuff... nah. I did, however, decide to entirely flatten my island. which... so far, I have no regrets about. I might use cliffs a bit once the update's rolled out, but not until then. still, to have my island inspired by the actual Karamja, I think it's best to have it mostly flat.

100% no, I don't want to go through the process of obtaining all the DIYs again and all my seasonal items, but my island is quite barren atm so this update has given me a bit of inspiration to actually do some landscaping/decorating.

I'll probably reset - I've not played in months anyway, so might as well take this opportunity to get back into it a bit before the dlc drops. There's a few DLCs I'll be sad about losing, but eh, it doesn't matter too much in the long run, can always get stuff back later.

My catalog is too extensive, and I have put too much work into the island in the past to want to reset.

I think for now I’m just going to redo certain parts of my island. There is gonna be so much new stuff to do that I don’t wanna have to do that while also starting over. Eventually I might start my island from scratch, but not completely restart it. Getting all the diys and flowers and stuff again and making money is just enough. I already had to restart my island once when my switch broke, I don’t wanna do it all again.

i'm probly going to remodel but i've already reset once, and bought several items with tbt so i dont wanna lose those lol

I'm satisfied with how my island is so far. plus resetting means planning, getting DIYS/items, and island hopping for dreamies all over again.

Definitely. I am going to be completely honest: I got the game on launch day and stopped playing in like June of 2020, because I was personally let down by the base game. Now that most of those disappointments are being fixed, I am going to restart my island and start fresh. I might actually do that tonight, so that I can go ahead and get through the tedious beginner hand-holding stuff and be ready for the update to drop.

I made a thread and it got merged, so!

I restarted my island a few days ago c: My old one was named Lumaway, and now it’s Moshi!

I’m very happy that I did and I made a vow to never time travel now. Doing tutorial fully legit and it’s rewarding! Excited to play with a fresh island for the update <3

I just reset mine today because I realized that I haven’t actually decorated anything on my island since January, lol.

First one was named Piaf, the new one is Bravado. The first day without any decorations is actually really fun, I forgot why I clocked in 100 hours my first month playing haha.

I restarted my island back in August and got so much accomplished so no, I'm not going to reset. My island is a hot mess with half town down cliffs and my river sliced into three sections but I am going to be revamping my island for the update instead of restarting.

I won't be restating my entire island from scratch, esp since we don't have the catalogue/DIYS saved to keep to a new island, but I very heavily in the process of redoing my main island. Again.

I've barely touched my second island so once I see most of what we get, then I'll start decorating that island.

No way! I love my island too much and I've put too much effort into it. It's not the prettiest or anything, but it's mine.

I will not be resetting, but there will be massive changes on my island. I'll mostly keep my layout the same though. I'm not after any aesthetic, just something presentable.

I promised that I would not reset my island ever and I intend to keep it. If I have to make major changes, I will edit my island. Either way, on a new or current island, I would do terraforming to make changes.

I feel conflicted I feel attached to my island but I feel like I am going to have more fun with a new start 😭

Just note one thing: if you do restart, a lot of the new content may be locked for quite some time if you are not a time traveler. So if you want to experience the new content straight away, it may be unwise to restart.
