Will you play in handheld mode or TV mode?

How will you play New Horizons?

I think a lot of people don't have the cash available for a full Switch + New Horizons game. The Lite will probably have a bundle with New Horizons which may make it an even cheaper purchase.

With the drifting joy con issue, folks who buy the switch lite will have to send away the entire console every few months.

Better off getting the full switch as the joy cons are removable.

Obviously I'm hoping nintendo fixes the problem before I fork over that much money.

The joy-con drifting issue is not as common as most people think. Of course you are better off getting the full Switch, but again, a lot of people don't have the money for that.

I meant in the long run a full switch might be better. Replacing or fixing the joy cons on a full switch versus repairing the console on the lite.

Since all data is stored on the console I wouldn't risk losing it if I had to send it away. (Is my reasoning for buying a full switch)

I've been saving for a Switch since the console was announced, and held myself back from getting it this entire time because I want an AC themed one (hopefully there's a bundle!). So I'll be getting a full Switch, and I may sometimes play on the TV, but I think I'll mostly play handheld -- I just find it easier. The lack of a handheld option for City Folk is definitely one of the major reasons for why I didn't connect with it as much as other games in the series.

A mixture of both for me. Probably more on the TV seeing as I don't take my Switch away from the house often.

I keep forgetting the Switch even has that home mode! I don't have one yet, but my brother does. He's always playing it on the go, even though we have a really nice TV. XD I think I'll be the same, too. I've always preferred handheld consoles over home consoles, so even if there ends up being a special edition Animal Crossing Switch and it's only for the Switch Lite, it won't be an issue for me.

I’ll mostly be playing AC laying down, so handheld for me... Until the battery starts to die and I have to get up and dock it

Both! TV mode when I'm at home and handheld when I'm commuting to work (on the train).

The Switch is my first non-handheld console and I really enjoy playing it in TV mode as much as I can.

I am mostly not at home, so the switch being in my purse helps, but I think the fact that it's island, having a large screen would not be too bad either!

I will mostly play on my TV because it is more relaxing to play while laying down. The Switch and NH now have really great graphics, so I'd want to get the most out of it. If I'm at uni or in a bus etc. I'll play in handheld mode. I also don't really like the feel of the Switch because it is a bit too heavy and the Joy-Cons cause cramps in my hands, which is why I usually play with a Pro Controller.

I don’t trust my cats, if a wire is moving they’re gonna start chewing on it, lol.

Oh then I understand not wanting to play with the cable attached.

It really depends on whether or not I'm playing online. When I'm playing online, I plan to do it on the TV using one of those USB Keyboards that holds the joycons on its side. Its just so much easier to communicate that way. Other than online play, it's really a toss-up. I mostly find myself playing Pokemon Sword in handheld right now, with some occasional TV time. I don't see any reason AC will be any different unless the text is prohibitively small.

Since I'm lucky enough to have a TV in my room, I'll definitely play on TV! But I may be working during the time the game goes out so I'll probably take my switch with me everywhere I go because I just couldn't NOT play one day. I was about to say that I'd also be playing it handheld in my bed, but I moved my bed in front of my TV, so that's not a problem anymore hehe.
