Sorry to butt in but.. wouldn't that be fair? if my baby niece made some scribble in 20 seconds and I worked 5 hours on a piece that took 11 years to practice to get where I am.. then i'd say ofcourse it's fair art contests are based on skill.

I wonder if you talked to 1000 professional art critics & art dealers and told them that Pollock, Kooning, Rothko & even some of Picasso's work wasn't worthy of much since they were technically on the same level as "scribbles" - what would they say?

I wonder if you talked to 1000 professional art critics & art dealers and told them that Pollock, Kooning, Rothko & even some of Picasso's work wasn't worthy of much since they were technically on the same level as "scribbles" - what would they say?

Yeah that's true, some art you see being sold now like 2 red stripes on a canvas for a few million.. so weird. But I suppose it's all in the effort put into it.. idk!

In the end I don't think the winner of the art category will win based off of skill. It all depends on whatever Pepper likes best! Someone could work really hard on a drawing, traditional or digital, and Pepper might not choose it because it isn't to her taste. She didn't specify how she'd pick the winner, she just told us what she wanted. I say you should just try your best, and hope you win. As long as you're happy with it, that's what matters. That's something I learned after being an "artist" most of my life. It wouldn't matter if I painted the most valuable or beautiful painting in the world. It won't be a winner in my eyes if I don't love it.

I agree with this, as long as you put effort into it or enjoy making it it should be fine.
