Would You Want Paid DLC For AC Switch?

I'd probably buy it if there ends up being paid DLC, but I'd prefer there not to be any. That leads too close to Sims territory and I do not ever want that, even though I don't think it would actually ever get as bad as the Sims is now.

absolutely no paid DLC for animal crossing, EVER! if they made that move I would be absolutely outraged! It is not in fitting with the animal crossing games and as the series is mainly aimed at a younger audience I really think it would be unfair!

So, yeah. The question's in the title..

Would you want paid DLC that adds more items, more house customization, more villagers from a new species type, and one 'gameplay feature' (like sand sifting or something), kind of like a Sims 4 expansion pack. I'd cost like $8-14 dollars a pack.

Honestly I'd kind of want DLC, as long as it doesn't affect the base game. I'd rather have a pay $120 for a bit more than get a $60 game with a little bit less features.

Also, what 'DLC Packs' would you want? I'd like a beach themed one. With a new strained furniture set, and a new 'beach house' house customization. Also new villagers like crabs or sharks. Lastly, the new gameplay feature for me would be like 10 new fish.

Anyways, I'd like to see people's thoughts on the topic, since Nintendo has a good chance there'll be paid DLC, like with Mario Kart 8 and Zelda Breath Of The Wild.

The problem with games right now is that too many publishers push out their games that are unfinished. That's the premise of most DLC anyway: put out a bare bones game and charge people a ton of money for extras.

The only paid DLC I would like to see are digital animal villager IDs. For example: people that already own amiibo cards and whatnot should be able to use those on the new game. Anyone that couldn't get them (or specific ones) when they originally released could then just purchase specific characters online which would work the same way.

However, it all depends on how amiibos will be used in the next game. Perhaps Nintendo will remove the option to move in anyone you want into your village through Wisp.

there already is. in amiibos.

This is how I would like paid DLC:

Example:

- Animal Crossing Switch Original (AC Switch without DLC)
- Island Pack (unlocks Tortimer Island, which is bigger and better than the Island we had in the GameCube Version and ACNL. Also unlocks more items)
- Happy Home Pack (unlocks Happy Home Designer’s mechanic and a few more items)

I’m not suggesting that we must pay to unlock the island or Happy Home Designer’s design mechanic (since it’s only an example), but I’m basically trying to say is that paid DLC is best if we unlock new features and a whole bunch of new items. New features that we never had before.

And I prefer if we get the full, finished version first, then get add-ons, rather than have the game be released unfinished and have the remaining features as DLC.

But animal crossing isn't made by EA

I would say yes, but only after a few years, to keep the game going and to add newer Nintendo content, such as in the Welcome Amiibo update to New Leaf.

i think welcome amiibo's interaction with money is pretty good. i don't have amiibo cards even though i could buy them, but i still have the opportunity to use some of the features like the meow coupons and the rotating campers. money isn't necessary at all, but there are little things that extra like that could be used for. i don't think i'd like dlc, but amiibo support would be easy and do the same thing

I wouldn't mind some dlcs and I would spend money as well! New content?! Please give it to me and take my money.
I really don't mind and people are also free to buy it or not. As long as they don't make lootboxes but that's unlikely ^^

I mean I guess we do have lootboxes in PC already, but I definitely think that's going to remain a mobile thing for Nintendo. I doubt they would introduce that in their mainline games in any series. Unless it was in-game currency of course, then it would be really fun :) I'd love to see fortune cookies return PC-style but purchasable with IGB

I'm not necessarily crossing my fingers for it, but if it came, I would 100% pay for it. Nintendo's good about delivering solid DLC that's worth it. If anything, though, I'd expect something more like the Welcome Amiibo update, where the in-game update is free, but you can buy stuff to enhance it.

god no i'm already blowing enough money on the switch as is (but i'd probably buy them if they came out anyway...)

I wouldn?t mind it, but only if it were one or two big things. I think a lot of people who say there shouldn?t be any would eventually buy them, and I know I would if they weren?t crazy expensive. I?m still playing new leaf and have three towns now, if a game has kept my attention for years like that I can justify spending $10 on a new pack of DLC to keep it interesting.

I haven?t actually bought anything for pocket camp, but I?ve come close a few times.

DLC would be cool but only if they came out in packs for like 5$ and you get a bunch of furniture set and clothes. kind of like the fortune cookies except paying the 5$ will get you the full set. i don't think this idea would be that bad if it happened every few months.

i feel like connectivity is going to be a huge aspect of ac switch so there probably will be DLC or at least a lot of promotional stuff

wait actually im broke dont do this to us

Honestly, I don?t think there?s going to be DLC for Animal crossing switch that you?ll have to pay for. It?d be fairly interesting if they did, however. If there does end up being payed DLC for Animal crossing switch, I?ll buy it anyway XD

I play more than one town and not sure how trading would work with one switch.
If they did something like Pokemon bank I would buy that. Place the items in the bank, save/quit and than open bank again to get the items on the other game.

I bought DLC for Disney Magical World 1 on the 3DS. It opened one world and was worth it.

Hell no. Animal crossing doesn't lend itself to paid dlc (see pocket camps extremely poor monetisation to see why). Animal crossing isn't a game like mario kart or smash where more characters or stages can be added. Nintendo has been extremely generous with free and continued support for their games so far on switch, I see no reason why this won't continue. Splatoon has had many cosmetic items added 100% free of charge, and animal crossings dlc would be just that, cosmetic.

I wouldn't have a problem with dlc, but animal crossing just... doesn't lend itself to it at all, especially with the nature of trading in the game also.

The ONLY dlc i can see working is exclusive pay to move in villagers who cannot move away to other towns. But even that just sounds.... unwieldy to the game formula.

I don't want paid DLC for AC Switch. It doesn't suit the game's style.
