I think globally 2016 was kind of a ****ty year, but I mean, you could say that about a lot of years. Tragedy and sadness isn't really an uncommon thing unfortunately, but people tend to focus a lot more on that than any positive events.
For me, though, 2016 was a great year. I started to recover from depression and social anxiety and I essentially feel like I've really become a person I'm proud to be. 2016 was the year I became an adult, so, kind of a good and bad thing, but I've become a much more confident person and I'm just managing to work out who I am as a person, after spending years of my life in a weird haze of anxiety, uncertainty and insecurity. ^^ I also managed to make a ton of new amazing friends and I experienced loads of awesome new things, so I think overall this year has been pretty damn good. <3
Personally, it's been a tough year. My mental health just went downhill. Probably the worst in awhile. Praying that 2017 brings my family and other families many blessings.
**HOWEVER, I will say, there's been a crud ton of awesome albums that came out this year that inspire me daily (ie Chance the Rapper, Frank Ocean, Bon Iver, need I say more..). I also did get the chance to attend a few concerts. So obviously not the absolute worst it could have been..but you get the idea.
personally, this year is conflicting for me..my mental health went to crap for a couple months, and i experienced way too much anxiety this year, but i guess the past month or so hasn't been too bac
globally, on a scale of one to 'well ****', 2016 was an 11. we've lost bowie, alan rickman, gene wilder, and recently carrie fisher and all we've got in return is donald trump which, in my opinion, seems like a ****ty exchange
personally, this year wasn't bad but it wasn't good either. nothing really happened.
some of it was good, some of it is bad. i'd like to think of my life as an equilibrium. i made a really good friend this year, but i lost them this year as well. i did worse in ballet, but i did better in school. if it weren't an equilibrium, i wouldn't be able to look at this year as positive, so as long as i maintain order, i can say this year has been okay.
Honestly it hasn't been any worse than any other year, but for me personally it's sucked so hard. One of the worst I've ever had. But as far as celebrity deaths and politics - with the exception of Trump - it's not actually been any worse.
2016 has left a lot of holes in my heart, unfortunately. On a more personal level, it has made me ask a lot of questions about my relationships and especially with my family. I can't say for sure things are going to be any better in 2017.
