Never intentionally!
But my friends in college would make chocolate covered crickets every now and then. But it was more sort of a novelty to sus out who was cool enough that they would try them out. I hear if they're fried really well, it's just like eating chips, but the idea of eating a whole bug just does not sound appetizing to me =( Maybe you could trick me if it was ground into some sort of insect-meal or flour and then baked into some other form.
But some part of me thinks for the environment, we should eat more bugs! A good source of protein, and there are so many more bugs than humans, and so it would be a sustainable source of food.... if only we could get over the 'ick' factor

Yes a cricket in chocolate. Also had a fly before but I don't remember what it was inside. I think another chocolate. I tasted nothing. I was 6 with the cricket and I don't remember how old i was when i tried the fly. It was just crunchy

I also want to note that it wasn't because I was being silly or on purpose. The ones I ate were meant to be eaten

I hear cicadas are good. My brother said during cicada year some restaurants serve cicada salads and other dishes. We had the 17th year this year, kinda wish I tried one of the meals but idk where to find or how to cook them.

it was fun reading the comments! also a little comforting some have actually tried insects (albeit how weird that sounds) cuz that means im not the only one LMAO

also for funsies i added an option "yes but against my will" for those who have accidentally ingested an insect. you have my sympathy.

Most of us have probably eaten something with a food coloring that was made from mashed up insects, myself included, but if we're just talking whole insects, I haven't eaten an insect thus far. I almost came close to consuming one when a tiny moth found its way into and drowned in a drink, but thankfully I noticed in time and got rid of the drink.

I might be open to trying sometime just out of curiosity, probably preferably in the form of those insects covered in candy or if they're otherwise prepared in a recipe of some sort. Can't say that I'd be too enthused about the idea though, I feel a bit off even just thinking about it.

Actually, yeah! A few years ago, I tried a dried grasshopper (?) and it does taste like chips. I was surprised as I expected it to taste horrible. And that insects in general kinda freak me out...

accidentally LMFAO i was like 6 and didn't notice that there were ants in my soda (it was dr. pepper) and...was not a fan.

god I hope not. If I have..... ignorance is bliss. >: )

Though I fear I am kind of intrigued by the insect candies and savoury snacks. Will I ever try any? Probably not. Am I curious? Perhaps.

Umm yes, I think? When I was 13-14 years old I made a bet with a friend if I could eat an ant. Easy win. And these days quite often little flies bathe in my drinks and I'm pretty sure I swallowed at least few of them.
Does it even count if they both are so small?...
