This was a good year for me. Kind of wary in the beginning, went great during the summer, November was amazing, and now here we are. I guess I understand why people say this year is the worst but I guess I can't really relate.
This year has been one of the worst in my life, and that's saying something.
The deathes of many icons, innocent people in shootings or plane crashes, that disgusting creature being elected President and much much more that I really cannot be bothered going on and on about.
For me personally 2016 was a great year. It's a little hard to speak in such black and white terms, as the year before (2015, of course) was mostly one of the worst years of my life, but then August/September things started turning around (well, for the most part), and before I knew it 2016 came around which brought me to quitting my overnight job (I hated overnights), going back to school for music (something I had sealed away any hope of doing in 2013), moving out on my own and meeting a wonderful new dog who needed me as much as I needed her, and finally getting over my ex (something that could have completely torn me apart if everything else good hadn't happened).
Unfortunately, 2016 ended with the election of Trump, which severely darkens the future, yes, for me personally. What an utter disaster. The year was also littered with terrorist attacks and the like, but I'm afraid those are just a reality of the world we've lived in for years. I could bring down every year with that. Instead I'll choose to look at 2016 brightly... I know 2017 and on will not make it easy. Unless somehow Trump, his cabinet goons, and the Republican controlled House/Senate spare us. But that would take a miracle. A literal miracle, and I don't believe in those.
Definitely my favourite year in a while, especially the second half, despite being not the best year for quite a lot of people, it's been much better than most years for me! (R.I.P Birdperson tho)
