Mafia A Prolonged Signups: The Game (Mafia Win)

The fact that you seem to be living in my brain is why I'm sad I need to sus you.

I agree with your sus, but you are wrong. I think that the reason Volt was kill was because of the non-vote, besides if you look at my interactions with Volt, if I was mafia, I was pocketing, why kill my pocket?

Although again it does makes sense, and I can see it, and to some degree back at you with that tinfoil.

@DinoTown I picked Tessa because I didn't like the "we'll just have to see" play. The more I thought about it, the more it just struck me as... Either she's a mafia who's not taking the game seriously and dropping a major hint, or she is town and putting a target on her back for no reason. The mafia are going to try putting targets on our backs to make us eliminate each other, we shouldn't be doing it ourselves to help them out. Like it could have just been an attempt to sound quirky that fell flat, but that vote just made the most sense in my gut.

Good, I'd be worried if you didn't flip it back around on me. I openly admit that if not you, it's me who knows Volt best.

This reaaaaally doesn't sit right with me. You claim you don't like the "just have to see play", yet your vote put us in a tie, meaning the elim would have been randomised. Your vote put us in a position of "we'll just have to see."

I kinda don't like this, not the vote, but the defensive vibe I'm getting.
I don't think a team of two mafia, will be doing that at the start of the game.

Also Misty doesn't mention once the third possibility of why Tessa looks wolfy, which is simply newbie plays.

That said, after thinking it over, I'm still highly suspicious of Tessa for voting me, when they never spoke to me about calling them ominous. There was absolutely no indication that Tessa had even seen me say it, and I do not understand why Tessa would chose to reply to Anna but vote me, when Anna and I did the exact same thing. That's not something I can just file under "possible newbie mistake", it just seems like a very weird choice to me.

Sorry I haven't been active today! First things first, Rest in peace volt. Next, is wolf just mafia? I thought the only roles were the 2 mafia and detective this time around. Maybe I need to read through the rules again. As for what's happening up here ^, I responded to Anna and then voted for you because I was looking at the most recent replies and I didn't see that you were the person to start the whole me being 'ominous'. I just immediately responded to what I had seen and then realized later, after reading through the older responses, that it was you who started that. So I probably should've clarified about that, sorry.

That's also why I unvoted, because I realized that you, dino, weren't the person to start the whole thing.

If mafia are trying to put targets on our backs then who do you think is currently trying to do that?

or just in general what is your train of thought looking at day two? Who are you sus of?

If two players tie votes typically the first one to reach that amount of votes is eliminated.... in response to dino

that it was you who started that
you, dino, weren't the person to start the whole thing
You're contradicting yourself here. Also you placed the vote just 3 minutes after replying to Anna.

Read the voting thread, Toad, it's randomised. It says so.

Even after reading through that response like 30 times before posting I still got a typo. I meant to say you WERE the person who started it. That's why I voted you, but I unvoted because you stated your case and seemed very town like. And I responded to anna first because she had quoted me and that was the highest importance when I checked my notifications. One of them said there were responses to this thread, and the other one said that I was quoted. Of course I was going to check who quoted me first. It just so happened that your reply was right above Anna's. Also, your response was calling me out as maf, while Anna was just agreeing that I sounded ominous.

Welp, I'm done defending myself. Obviously I'm going to claim that I am on the villager side, and I stand by that. I've said everything I could to get you to not look at me from a suspecting point of view, but dude, get out of my head cause its hard to keep up today with you constantly pointing out the things I do that are mafia-like. But I guess there's really no point of arguing with a psychologist. So I've done my best to prove I'm not mafia (Which really isn't very good proof now that I think about it). I totally understand if you all vote me, I'm looking back on my responses and I totally seem sus. Maybe I just don't need to be so contrary all the time.

Also dino, one last question, and istg this time I'm not looking for a long debate. Just wondering, why did you vote me even though you said you wouldn't like it if I got voted out first time on d1?

Because I changed my mind, obviously. I think the way you played out your early vote, not explaining your voting thought process and especially now having Catharina snipe to save you makes you incredibly suspicious and I don't trust you at all. Personally advocating you to be the elimination for the day so we can weigh up yesterday's main wagons fully, but I am open to suggestions from other people if they have better ideas.

Also if it just me or are alerts totally broken for everyone else, too? I've gotten 1 alert of a quote this entire game and none of Damniel's mentions are working for me

Yeah same for me.

Also I'm also not 100% sure one Tessa atm even tho I sniped (I really shouldn't have voted ;').) Again at that moment I just had a gut feeling of panda being more sus than Tessa (yikes I'm so sorry panda ) and because it was between them I thought to just vote. I know it looks very very bad for me (and possibly Tessa). but I can't really give a bigger explanation than this + what I said before.

I don't really know if it's happening atm. I'm still trying to get used to forum mafia (as compared to real life mafia where you can't go back and read posts verbatim and where it's easier for mafia to take the gist of what someone said and twist it a bit bc no one will remember the exact wording 30 mins down the line). My gut feeling says that the mafia are being a little more quiet right now (maybe not necessarily in terms of lurking/not posting, but in terms of not trying to throw shade at the moment).

My first train of thought was trying to figure out why Volt was the target for night one. ...Admittedly, I didn't get very far with this. However it did strike me as interesting that Volt and Panda were both veteran players, both town, and they both went quickly. I dunno enough about Volt or Panda to know if their playstyles are similar at all, so really all I can go with is that I think someone on the mafia feels (or at least felt) threatened by the veteran players.

It's super basic, but I'm a little sus of Catharina voting Panda at the last possible second. I mean a lot of people were getting votes in late on Sunday (me included 😭 my time management Sunday afternoon was bad), but breaking a tie late and having the person you chose turn up town is a bad look. It's not a super hard read, though, because I'm willing to concede it may have been a combo of crunch time + a rookie mistake, but it's something I'm going to be keeping in mind going forward. (sorry for the novel, I'm a word-vomity person)

Quote alerts are working fine for me (unless they aren't & I'm missing things elsewhere on the site but here at least I haven't missed one), but I haven't gotten any of Damniel's pings either.

Hey, everyone. First of, sorry I've been absent for most of Day Two. Work's been kicking my butt. Unfortunately, quarantine ended two weeks earlier than expected so I went from having all the free time, to one or two free hours a day. So, about the game:

I find it funny how on Day One I didn't know who to vote for because there was little to no info, and now a case could be made for just about anyone, including myself (though obviously some theories would hold more water than others) . I'm not gonna make you read a wall of text of me saying things other, more experienced people have said, but I do want to point out one thing:

However, my most current thought relates to the Volt kill. The Volt kill, in my opinion, was probably the right choice. Volt is a strong player, who probably should have gone. However, that thought would require knowledge of Volt's meta, which is something I can't peg onto any of the newbies unless they've been reading previous games, which I doubt. The two people who I'd argue know Volt the best are me and Ace, which, as much as I don't like it, means I need to be open to the consideration that Ace is not town here. Toads is another possibility but Ace almost certainly knows Volt better.

I see your point and it's a fair one to make, but I just want to say that when I saw Volt was the one killed during the night my first thought was that a newbie did it. Even though, like you said, a newbie wouldn't know the meta and kill based on that, Volt was not only the only one who didn't vote, but also didn't participate in the conversation beyond a little bit at the beginning of Day One. As a newbie who sees a town split in half and susing each other left and right, I would want to go for the person who didn't side with anyone at all, therefore creating no clears. Now, I could be wrong (clearly), but I don't think we should discount that possibility.

I'm off to work now, but I'll be back an hour or so before the day ends, so I'll give my thoughts and cast my vote then.

I didn't. I also haven't been getting anything except the notifications that someone replied to a thread I'm watching.

Although this is plausible, it also screams Dino, Toad or I told you to post this in the mafia chat, and it kinda makes me more suss of Dino ahhhh, but not enough to vote Dino or here. After thinking it, actions speak louder than words, so I think I will vote for Catharina, that snipe vote does not sit right with me, maybe Toad told Catharina to vote last second to vote there and do some bussing? this super lite game is super hard.
