A question for those who don’t time travel...

I have a hypothetical question for fellow non-TTing players! Would you let a time traveler visit your island? I was told recently there’s a lot of New Horizons players who aren’t comfortable letting any time travelers visit them and vice versa, but haven’t seen anyone say so myself. Just wondering what everyone thinks.

This is a simple question out of curiosity. I understand time travel is kind of a divisive thing, but please keep discussion honest but civil!

I’d let you visit and I’d also go to your town. As long as it’s not during an event, lol.

I have great restraint, so I don’t get tempted to catch fish/bugs in another season.
I visited a town today in the southern hemisphere and didn’t even catch anything, and the host doesn’t even time travel. I’m just particular like that, I guess.

I'll visit time travellers and let them visit, as long as they don't try to give me items locked behind progression without me knowing.

I understand not wanting to go to the town of someone who time travels, but I don't see how them coming to your town can be a spoiler in any way. Unless they have clothes or tools you haven't seen before or something.. Still, I don't think stuff like that is really a spoiler but everyone views it differently, I suppose.

It won't negatively impact your game or your island if a TTer visits. So I don't really know the point to prevent people from visiting for that reason alone.

But I don't really understand the divisiveness of TTing in general. People can do what they want with their own game.

Sure! They're more than welcome to come to my island. I don't mind at all. I also have no issues with visiting TT islands- quite the opposite, actually. It's fun to see what's ahead for my own island.

Since I time traveled a lot in New Leaf, I decided to play New Horizons without time traveling, but I have no problems with it if others want to time travel and will let them visit mine and i will visit them as well.

i don't really understand the whole situation with tting. it's all up to the player on how they want to play their game, and i don't have a problem with time travelers coming to my island or vice versa. i just don't see the harm?

Neither do I. I think it’s a purist thing, I guess? Like, not wanting your game impacted by anyone who manipulates the clock? But unless they’re giving you lots of late-game items I don’t see why it should matter, myself.

it won't affect my game anyways and have done this several times on new leaf (when i played the first year without TT) i find it so silly though, because i don't like to cheat and claim my town is "cheat free" yet i trade and stuff and you'll never know how they get their items hahaha

I played new leaf completely without time travel and in new horizons I decided I want to progress my town faster & time travel and I'm loving it so far. I dont understand the stigma against TTers, on this forum I dont think I've ever really seen users who have a problem with it since a lot of old new leaf players had towns dedicated to reclying and time traveling. Outside this forum though I do see the hate against TTers.. and I still dont understand it.. just let people play the game however they want?

Although I won’t be TT’ing in New Horizons (I did in previous titles), people that do TT are still always welcome to visit. I’m not super picky on who comes over! (*´꒳`*)

It seems like Nintendo wanted to stop TT’ing, but people can be impatient/get bored easily/etc but it’s whatever, not like it makes them less of a player or something!

Saw also a post with no visits from people who TT. I was really confused xD In my town everyone is welcome. I used to TT in new leaf a lot. In NH I don't TT

I used to TT a lot in NL, but this time around i wanted to take it slow and not tt (im older and have less time anyway, so i dont run out of stuff to do on one day)

I don't mind tters visiting me at all, and even sometimes visit on or two. But I dont want to go to much to tt towns, as i havent really followed all the directs and news around NH, so there is a LOT that hasnt been spoiled yet. And i like to keep it that way as long as possible

It doesn’t affect me in the slightest. I TT’d in Wild World and New Leaf so I have nothing against time traveling or time travelers

Whether someone else time travels or not doesn't bother me. It wouldn't stop me playing or trading with them.
