Acne/Spots

I never get acne because I have a good diet and exercise regularly. During puberty, I got mostly only a couple acne spots because I used to do figure skating everyday.

To wash my face, I use Japanese products because American products are just full of chemicals and are not good for your skin.

When I was about 17 I started developing really severe cystic acne due to a hormonal disorder. I think I've finally managed to get it under control with the combination of a BCP with an anti-androgen progesterone, and a prescription topical cream that has benzoyl peroxide and an antibiotic. It's so amazing to finally be able to touch my face without it hurting!

Ok that's not strictly true. Acne can be due to a whole range of factors, including levels of certain hormones, and genetics.
There is no research that shows that a bad diet is related to acne. And same with physical exercise. In fact, sweating can make acne worse so it's probably bad for acne to do strenuous exercise.

Also, the causes of acne (e.g. increased production of sebum) actually happen underneath the skin, so really the cleanliness of the face has nothing to do with it.

Personally I've never had much trouble with it, just the occasional few spots.

I don't as bad breakouts as some people per say, but I will occasionally turn up red spots. I also get ingrown pimples under my nose every oncr and a while, those things hurt like the ****.

Mine is controllable when I'm not too lazy to put more than just astringent on every day. Took awhile to find stuff that actually worked, though; I've gone through a lot of different products. I've also developed an allergic reaction to benzoyl peroxide, so my stuff has salicylic acid in it, which I personally think does more than benzoyl peroxide ever did for me.

Also I have a bunch of blackheads but they're so obscure I can't be bothered to get them out.

I have really clear skin and I never make an effort to do anything to make it clear. I get a pimple every once in a while but that's pretty much all.

I'm just really lucky. Both my sisters apparently have some skin trouble.

Can I suggest Apple Cider Vinegar for acne scars? To make it just mix 1 part apple Cider Vinegar and 2-3 parts water or for one use 1 teaspoon ACV and 2-3 teaspoons water and apply on face. I leave mine on for 20 mins or overnight I wouldn't if you're going out because Vinegar smells but that goes away in about an hour. Just dont go out in the sun with it on itll irritate skin badly

As a teen I had hormonal acne but I rarely ever get breakouts now unless it's hormonal related to my time of month.

I used a lot of acne soaps and all it did was dry out my skin and make my acne more red and inflamed. Even the sea soap. What worked best for me was just oil blotting paper and benzoyl peroxide cream with a bandaid over night. As I got older and beak out less, I stuck to Korean skincare face wash products. They didn't dry out my skin and helped reduce dirt and oil. Foam cleansers or cream cleansers usually.
I only ever got acne on my chin and occasionally my nose. It was almost always cystic so it took forever to go away and it was painful. Glad I grew out of it >_<

The only spots I have on my face are freckles. They used to bother me a bit, but now I don't really care.

That's great that it's gone now. I think it shouldn't dry it out toomuch if you use a gentle moisturiser but then some people breakout from moisturisers sadly

I'm 17 and I haven't had acne yet either. I don't have tons of spots on my face, but I have a few.

I get a lot in the summer, when I get all greasy and disgusting. Summer can go shove itself in a hole, it's hell for every part of me....

I aim to aim to wash my face every morning with the specialist facial wash stuff to keep my face clean of spots and avoid oily face
I'm 18 and have not had acne before thankfully

Actually I have a spot near my mouth now darn dermatological tested facial scrub

I have freckles around my nose (on my nose / above my cheeks) and I prefer winter because they spawn in the summer and then I have it x10 worse lol.. I tend to get pimples here and there, but no real acne, luckily. :/

When my face feels gross,
i mix baking soda and a little bit of lemon jucie and leave it on my face for 10 - 15 minutes,
then my face feels like a baby bum after!

honestly I never had severe acne but after going to the dermatologist and getting on birth control in high school my skin totally cleared up and it's been clear for years now with no product regime/nothin

except I do moisturize my face daily, idk if that has any influence on it or not. I think not

I can vouch for the birth control, I had never broken out until after my Junior year, had it all over my cheeks and forehead-.- But then my doctor suggested birth control, and my face has been mostly clear ever since. Great stuff that birth control haha!

I get acne everywhere, although I imagine at my age it's hormones. Oil doesn't help for me, it makes it worse. Which is one of the reasons why I'm getting a pixie cut, so I never have to put my hair up to keep my oily hair from ruining my clean face.

I have tons of tiny pimples. Not noticeable in bad lighting, or good photoshop. Face, neck, chest, even my stupid thigh got one out of nowhere! Problem is they fade into my skin, not go away, so I look and feel like a toad. Nothing wrong with toads, I hope I didn't offend any.
