Am I the only one who hates the stalk market?

It's like the little raccoons know when you don't buy turnips and give you a ridiculously high selling price just to make you suffer.

I'm trying to knock out some achievements and the last stamp on the stalk market is taunting me. I was only able to complete as much as I did because my friends were always on top of their prices during the early days. I would have never touched it otherwise. I'm going to just have to do it in small amounts and get lucky because I'm way too lazy to sell on other islands.

I'm a big fan of the stalk market purely from a bells perspective - if you can play your cards right (you timetravel to a sunday during the week/ someone else timetravels while you're still on a sunday) and you have some time to kill it's fairly easy to rack up a decent amount pretty quickly, but I do agree that it relies heavily on having NSO and being able to actually travel, and the loading times travelling to and from islands repeatedly is a big mood killer.
as for the achievements i do feel generally some of the targets you have to hit are waaay overkill but this one is definitely achievable, you just have to be willing to take the time to do it lol

i wouldn’t say that i hate the stalk market itself, but i definitely hate having to partake in it lmao. for me, it’s not even about my prices almost always being ass (the highest price i’ve ever had was like 625, and this was a day after i had accidentally spoiled all my turnips. i was so mad. 😫) or selling on other people’s islands being frustrating, i’ve just never had much interest in or fun with the stalk market, even in previous games. the only reason i’m bothering with it at all is because of the nm achievement. i don’t need the bells, and even if i did, catching and selling bugs/fish/deep-sea creatures is my favourite and go-to method of making bells. it might be a bit more work, but it’s more fun and relaxing for me.

plus, as silly as this sounds, having to sell my turnips on other people’s islands makes me anxious. i use turnip exchange for all my turnip selling business since the market on here isn’t too active, and while i’ve thankfully yet to have a bad experience, i still hate not knowing who i’m dealing with and what to expect when i arrive on their island. the queues on there can also be quite long sometimes, to the point that i can’t tell you the amount of times i’ve been in a queue of several people for 30+ minutes and gotten close to it being my turn, only for the queue and island to be closed. i’m never mad at the host for this, but it definitely sucks to waste all that time waiting just to have to join a different queue anyways.

i believe the next time i sell turnips will be the last since i’m about 80k bells away from completing the achievement, so i won’t have to deal with the stalk market or turnip exchange much longer. 😇

Ik this isn't a good thing considering I've literally had this game since it came out but I've never actually bought or sold a turnip LOL

It's just too much work for my lazy-self 💀
