Amiibo card availability

My city's stores are sold out as well but my friend who works at EB Games is gonna hook me up with some when they get them in stock again x_x

I haven't been able to find them anywhere either! I'm gonna try Toys r us sometime this week, I didn't even think of that! The girl at EB Games told me they sold out as soon as they got them in, and they aren't sure when they're gonna be back in stock. I don't even think Nintendo expected them to sell out so fast haha
 
I live in a very tiny town. So my game stop constantly has a full box of cards almost constantly. It's a shame I can't afford to just buy them all on my tight budget.
 
My friend and I went on a hunt for them yesterday. What seemed to be a steady supply has dwindled down into nothing. We went to 2 Targets and found 6. We called 3 Gamestops, 2 Walmarts, our Toys R Us, and Best Buy. All gone.

Our closest Gamestop did tell us that one guy came in and bought 2 of the 3 boxes they had. No one seemed to be sure when they were going to get more either. Are they supposed to be this limited?

lol sounds about like my luck... the last gamestop I went to the guy told me that someone came in and asked to find out they had 4 packs left and he said "OH MY GOD GIVE ME ALL OF THEM" also all my gamestops borderline looked at me like I was crazy and they kinda didn't know what I was talking about....
 
Holy smacksnaps I got lucky today. Went to Best Buy near my work. I asked a staffer I've chatted with a few times before if they had any cards (they've been sold out) and she said they were out but someone had just returned some unopened packs a few minutes before. "How many you want?" she asked. "As many as you'll let me buy," I said. Eight packs. I got eight. packs.

i haven't had any problems so far. my boyfriend bought me the game and two packs two or three days ago at meijer, then we went to walmart (because it's closer to where we live) later that night and got three more packs. there were only about two or three more packs left at walmart, though. i didn't check how many there were at meijer.
i work at toys r us and i only saw about 2 or 3 packs yesterday when i was working.
i don't think they're as popular as they are in some cities, thank goodness. :b
 
Yeah, this happened to me too. One day one I got 3 packs from Walmart, Target and BestBuy. My Gamestop didn't even have them at all...since I just live close to all three and wanted more throughout the day. The next day or so I went back to all three and they were just gone! I couldn't believe it since I live in a pretty small town atm...It was just bizarre. The Walmart website said this store close to me had them so I drove 30 mins just to find out they didn't come off the truck yet...(that's why you should always call first, my bad) But turns out they weren't on the truck at all.

So they just had three more packs shipped to Walmart and I will be able to pick them up this week...

But yeah, it was just weird to see them and then nek minit...they vanished!

Glad to be getting a couple more soon though! Hoping for not too many doubles :/
 
I've gotten none from anywhere, even right after the day they released (Walmart, Target, Gamestop)! They all seem to be sold out xD
 
I'm from British Columbia Canada and didn't have a problem finding the cards.
Picked up my game at EB Games and the employee set one aside for me. Bought 6 packs.
The first 5 days were a lot a Walmart and the employee at one store said they weren't selling. 7 days later both Walmart were sold out. Today I went to Toys R Us and they had a box sitting by the amiibo display. They also had the splatoon 3 pack that everyone is looking for.

One Walmart had the card hanging on the hook with the amiibos. I didn't see them and the employee found them for me. They blend in with the toys. The other Walmart had them at the checkout. Make sure to ask if they have cards because they maybe hiding. Day 5 an employee at Walmart said he had a full box in the back that I could buy. I already had enough but wished I could have bought them that way.

ok sounds like I need to ask more.... Idk, I just feel awkward asking about them, because they are gonna look at me and be like why do you want these?!?!?! but then again I don't walmart workers don't understand what they are anyway lol!

you work at toys r us? any insight into when they might restock on them? my toys r us had like 6-8 sold out hooks of them
 
I got the last 2 at my local gamestop. The cashier was tempted to buy them, so I just gotthem both/

EDIT: I live in an area that BARELY owns 3DSs. This was surprising.

A lot if not all of that awkwardness is probably in your head. The workers won't care--they'll likely think you're buying them for someone else, if they think about it at all. Chances are excellent that they indeed *don't* think or judge. Parents, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, family friends, etc. all buy toys. No one looks at them and thinks, "You're buying these for YOU! You giant weirdo, buying kids' toys." If you're able to get past your own awkward feelings, it's very likely that anyone working there isn't going to bat an eyelash. And if they do, kick 'em in the knee.
 
My local stores didn't stock them on release day, instead it looks like everyone is waiting a few days before putting them out. I went to the Target by my house today and they had just put out some. There were about 15 packs on the shelf and I just bought two. I'm not 100% sure if I'm going to try and collect all of the cards, so I didn't buy any more. Luckily, I used to work at that location and know when they like to restock and put out new items.
 
where I live they seem to be pretty well stocked. I've not gone out since release, but on release Target had 3 boxes (42 packs per box), and EB games had one on the counter, and more out the back. Those are the only two stores that seem to sell them here.
I was a little worried 'cause the other day EB Games had sold out of the cards online, and had removed them entirely from their site, but they're back now, so I don't think stock will be an issue here at least.
 
I will try going out tomorrow as I usually get sushi by the toys r us anyway.... Like the city i live in is so Country or just not Animal Crossing, so I don't know why I am having such a problem! I just want to find the ones of my fav villagers lol
