Amiibo card availability

Some of the stores in America aren't even putting them out though. My mom went to best buy to try and find some, one young employee checked the back for her and told her they were completely sold out, but sounded odd so she asked a second employee and he went and pulled out a whole box, saying they have tons but they just aren't keeping them out for people to see.

It really just depends on where you go, but most online shops let you check the stock in store so you can always do that before going! :l

My bf recently got me the game as an early bday present and we went amiibo card hunting all around our city as far as we could and everywhere we went, they were sold out. He's pretty determined about getting me the cards so he asked every employee if they had more in back stock but in every Walmart, Best Buy, GS, and Toys R Us, all said no. So hopefully this isn't the case that they're not really checking cause going around everywhere is exhausting!

In the end, I settled for ordering them online. I do hope the stores restock because it is more expensive to order than to walk in and purchase them physically.

I'm from south east England and the stock in my area is dry
GAME have no cards in store, not one pack.
Argos will be getting some packs in for me for Sunday... I didn't think they would be this short!

Toys r us have none either!

Target had 1 pack on Wednesday lol rip. I managed to get Bangle, Eugene and DJ KK which I'm happy with for now. Australia is the land of amiibo so stock should be fixed soon I hope xP

it'd be better if more stores sold them :\

only eb games and target have them. I know big w isn't stocking them (yet, anyway), and i'm not too sure about jb hifi bcos i never checked l0l - but they don't have them online so im assuming they dont.

i just wish more places sold them but w/e

My advice to everyone that can't find cards is to go to small towns and cities that have the stores they are sold in. I live in a relatively small city and we have 2 gamestops and a walmart and thankfully I've been able to find a bunch in stock. I hope you find some.

you work at toys r us? any insight into when they might restock on them? my toys r us had like 6-8 sold out hooks of them

nope, but i'll find out how often we receive restocks on them when i go in tomorrow o:

I am calling toys r us in the morning because they said they might get some on their shipment in the morning..... best buy didn't have them set out directly when I went there, so maybe I should've asked someone? I will try again before work tomorrow lol! good luck to everyone else having trouble too!

I went to a whole bunch of stores in the past 2 weeks and was only able to snag one pack from a gamestop which I had to reserve because they claimed they had none in stock. I got most of my cards off ebay. I need about 38 more to complete my set. Oh and Nintendo world store in NYC just announced they are giving out US animal crossing amiibo books for the cards if you buy the bundle. I seen the book too and its not as good as the UK one at all.

In the UK. You have to put up with expensive prices unless you buy from Argos, tiny packs (3 cards). The bright side is that they are not rare at all.

The problem with checking online first to see if the store has them in stock is that's not always reliable. My best friend works for Target and she told me that they don't update the website fast enough when stuff sells out, so it could say in stock but you could get there and they could be sold out.

I was told target had them and I live like a 10min walk from one and I went and they were sold out. Went to a target here in Boston by Fenway park and the guy said that the south bay target has 12 in stock but I didn't wanna go all that way to find out they were sold out.

Also target and walmart are only allowed a limit of 3 packs per online order and that's even if you choose to pick up in store. Good thing about target was I chose to pick up in store but they didn't have them so I didn't get charged for shipping. Best buy only allows the purchase of 1 pack per order and most game stops are selling out wicked fast or you have to reserve them in order to be able to pick them up. I went to a few and was told they had no clue when they were getting more because they were in such high demand.

Every store is different though so I wouldn't really say best buy has a 1 per person limit. My mom brought 5 packs at best buy, it just depends what area you live in as some don't have limits in store. The only stock check works for me most the time, but then again like I said, it doesn't work for everyone as some stores don't update often enough

The 1 limit with best buy that I am referring to is the online orders only. Even if you order online to pick up in stores target and walmart both only allow you to order 3 online to pick up in store. I tried placing a second order and I wasn't allowed to. Best buy told me its one pack per online order due to it being in such high demand.

I just preordered the book to hold the cards off ebay. I seen the US book and didn't like it so I pre ordered the UK book for $30 from someone in California.

If you have a best buy card thou (not sure if it works without one) and call in an order though some will do it (just trying to help people find ways around the limit!)

Another reason you can't find them is stealing.
Last night Walmart received some and each pack is now in a locked gaming clear box.
Before they left them at the checkout counter unattended.

I warned them about people stealing before they came out. Mentioned that one card was going for $20. All the new video games are locked in the back so this is the new thing to steal.

No shortage in my area. Last time I checked, Walmart had at least fifteen packs on the shelf, seen them in Targets too.

I'm going to an never bigger city than the one I live in this weekend and will be looking everywhere I can

Cards are in wicked big demand here in Boston. I went into bestbuy at the mall near my house looking for these and the guy said they didn't have them but he wanted to know what the hype was about them, I explained it to him.

The guy in GameStop knows me and he said even he can't find them

As a Canadian Best Buy employee; our website FINALLY has a "three pack per household" limit. I am trying to impose that in store, but so far we haven't had a huge need to yet. A lot of people come in for only a few packs at a time. We also don't have them on the floor so that people can't steal them; they are locked up with our new games at Customer Service.

My friend at Gamestop/EB doesn't have a limit on theirs, and sometimes people come in and buy the whole box! Another employee at EB doesn't have a single card yet. Our Toys R Us stock is usually pretty good; most people aren't going there for the cards it seems.\

Best Buy has a reserve system online, you can request them on the website and they will hold the product for 48 hours. Or you can call in to the store and can get a 24 hold.
