Amiibo S5 - Yays and nays

The chances of me having money to spend by then are really low. So I probably won't be able to buy any unless they stay around for a while. =(

I mean, I’m going to TRY. Whether it’s possible to acquire them will be another matter. I’ll probably attempt to collect about half, the designs I like most, but not worry about 100% completion.

I’ll probably buy a pack or two and then just buy specific character cards from there if I don’t end up getting who I want! since these are all new cards I don’t mind grabbing a few packs without worrying too heavily about dupes

I'm not an amiibo card collector so my answer was no. I only have Marty's card and I ordered it online. Hopefully all these new characters will be adoptable from other people's islands though.

if i’m able to find any in stock then most likely i would probably purchase one or two packs max and hope for no duplicates. other than that I don’t see myself trying to get all the cards in this set. if anything I’d rather them rerelease series 1-4 with the series 5 release, but I know that would probably not happen.

I'm going to get them for sure, but I wish we got a few more in this series tbh. I would have loved to see the characters from the 'cars' set get actual full body photo cards, especially since they didn't re release that series last year with the others. I want Dobie and Ketchup badly.

Also the lack of Gullivaar is very odd to me.

I am very surprised they didn’t reissue or redesign the camper cards, especially since there was absolutely room in the fifth series for all 50 of them. And it’s already confirmed in the video that the camper villagers are able to have homes designed in the DLC, so the incentive would still be there for Nintendo to make them available for new/current players

i’ll probably buy a few packs to try to get cephalobot and shino if they’re at target & scalpers don’t get to them first. even if i don’t get those two first try, more cards won’t hurt my collection. as for the cards themselves i was kind of disappointed they didn’t bring back champ but roswell makes up for that even though i didn’t know about his existence in an older game.

Probably only if the new villagers aren't possible to find on mystery islands, and aren't otherwise tradeable, which I think seems unlikely. Even in that case though, I'd rather not gamble and will probably just try to find the card I want secondhand, hopefully for a fairly reasonable price. Although with the way scalping has been lately, I'm afraid that might mean waiting a while.

i would like to purchase a few packs, but only if they're at/close to retail price. i really hope this doesn't become a mess.
since i have S1-4, WA, and sanrio, the completionist in me wants to collect them all lol. i don't think i'd be upset if i couldn't complete S5 though.

I’m planning on getting enough packs to complete the set and giving away any of the extras/duplicates I get tbh. AC Amiibo cards are like the only thing I collect anymore so it’s painful thinking about what happened with the Sanrio release. It makes my stomach feel super upset thinking about it ugh lol

looking at the list of regular villagers starting at Sherb, it seems to alternate between male and female villagers. so i wonder if sasha is male?

Yay and long as Walmart, Amazon, and GameStop are selling them for a while. Buying in small provinces of Canada can be so annoying sometimes.

Hmm I am not sure, I'll have to think about it. While it is cool to see Raymond, Dom, Sherb, Audie, Reneigh, Cyd, Judy, Megan, and all the new NPCs get amiibo cards I am not so sure if I want them. I've seen them all so many times that It just doesn't make me want to get them. On the other hand I am interested in the brand new villager amiibos that we have never seen before. I'll hold off on it until if its confirmed if you can get any of the new villagers from Nook Mile Islands/Campsite Random Visits or given away by other people. I just hope they are not locked behind amiibo like the Sanrio villagers were.
