Probably not available in my country, but I’d still not buy haha. I only really want Shino so I’ll either wait for villager cycle shops or just buy amiibo coins. Don’t really like leaving things up to chance knowing I only want one character haha.

i’m not sure why isabelle and tom nook have 2 cards each, but i’m honestly not mad at this! the new and returning villagers that we’re getting are fantastic, so i’m okay with there not being any surprise others. i just hope that i can actually manage to get my hands on a pack or two.

I love several of the new and returning villagers Nintendo chose, but it also feels like quite a cop-out to deliberately pad the series with a bunch of NPC cards that are duplicates from previous series. To me, that's a pretty transparent money grab, causing people to want more packs and scarcity (and thus value) to rise, since there will be fewer actual villagers in each pack. Nobody needs a fourth Isabelle card and there's no way Nintendo doesn't know that. They probably also didn't want to create more new villagers, but felt that fewer than 48 cards would feel TOO small compared to the other series sets. Mixed bag for me. Not that I won't still try to grab a few from Target if possible! Sigh.

So it seems like by the Japanese names, confirms what other have said about the genders of the new villagers. -
sasha’s name in the Japanese is Mitchell, so probably male, as I have seen reported on other threads.
shino’s Japanese name is Yoshino a female name.
petri’s name is Rika, which means she is probably a she.
Quinn is Shion, which I think is a female name, so probably she is female (I think her being uchi/ sisterly seems likely)
I wrote this elsewhere but wardell’s look and Japanese name (Nattii) make me think he is a manatee and I love that.
although I wish there were more new villagers and less Tom nook and Isabelle cards, I am happy to see cards of Flick, daisy mae, and the dodos

16 new villagers isn’t terrible, at least. Plus the eight from launch. Don’t get why the characters who don’t even have new models are getting new cards, though - Lottie, Isabelle, Nook and the Nooklings I can deal with, and Wisp and Harvey were post-WA additions so I get them getting cards now, but Saharah? (And interestingly enough, Harriet and the other 2.0 characters aren’t included, even though Harriet clearly has a new model. Weird.)
They also could’ve easily justified the Welcome Amiibo characters getting more ‘standard’ cards rather than the RVs, which would’ve added 50. (They’re certainly rare enough.) Put Harriet and someone else in and you’re up to the full 100.

I really like all the new villagers we are getting. I think Sasha is the rabbit version of Marshal and Raymond. I love Shino, Iona, and Petri. I am a little sad there wasn’t a new villager type(rip bats), but there is always next time/ generation.

Some people seem to hesitate on this since his name is Sasha. However, "Sasha" is a fairly popular name for boys in Russia, it's a diminutive/informal version of Alexander. So it's definitely possible!

It's an odd split that basically half are special characters. UK packs still have 1 special card and 2 villager cards, so the balance is a bit off if you want one of the new npc cards to call them to the roost.
For america it's even worse! Assuming its correct that you still get 5 villagers and 1 NPC you may struggle to get the new npcs. I suppose its good that the villagers will have a lot in circulation, but having to buy packs filled with dupes for a chance at the single npc you are missing will be frustrating. People aiming to make a CJ / Flick roommates house may need to search pretty hard

The only thing I hate about the Amiibo cards are the NPCs. Getting one per pack is really frustrating, especially when there's little you can do with them. I guess if you get the new HHD it might be worth it?

I'm kinda relieved that there aren't any more new/returning villagers that hadn't been revealed yet—there's still a lot I want to see in terms of new villagers, and several old villagers who I'd love to make a comeback, but I'm glad I don't have to worry about my dreamie list being shaken up by even more villagers.
The NPC choices do seem a little odd, though—we've got a lot of duplicates, but I'm also really surprised there's no Gullivarrr. He's a new NPC, so it seems weird that he's not getting a card at the moment.

wow it didn’t even cross my mind that Sasha would be male, but now that I see the jacket it makes more sense they are a jock and not female. I really wish they would have added more new villagers, but I guess some is better than none.

I didn’t notice no Gullivarrr but you’re right, that is weird. I’ve almost got to wonder if there is a series six planned for the 2.0 and such NPCs specifically or something to include him and the 2.0 characters. (Also no Redd or Leif, so actually it looks like the only ones included in the set from post-launch are the DLC characters and the 16 newcomers. Very weird.)

I really hope we get a series 6, mostly because I want the RV cars re made and it could mean more new villagers (I would kill for a new species type, Dinosaurs please).
NPC wise though besides all the ones mentioned above, I think a new Pascal where he's posed on his back eating a clam would be super cute. Also Wedding Day was a big event so a cute group photo of Reese and Cyrus would be adorbz too
