Anniversary update - Speculation thread

I’m still confused about why people even think there will be an anniversary events/items.

Mostly because there’s still major content missing such as Brewster and a Nook’s cranny upgrade and people feel the anniversary is the perfect time to include them. Also, the recent announcement that there will be an update released on March 18, which is 2 days before the anniversary. It’s all just wishful thinking but it’s fun to speculate.

Sanrio collab is the only confirmed update so far but since the update for Sanrio releases March 18, which is before the anniversary on the 20th, people are hoping it’s going to include other missing content.

Those will come. I'd be good with just one of those showing up this month but both would have me happy for the foreseeable future. There will probably be a point Kicks has his own shop as well rather than just being a random event if I had to guess too.

I feel the same way, I don't care about the new villagers and I also don't care about the mario items. My expectations are very low, but I wish we could at least get Brewster, a new Nook's Crany expansion and some furniture series we had in WW and NL that are missing (and I do realize my expectations are not low at all haha)

I've been feeling the same way too. I am not too interested in that recent update trailer that was released but, It still bothers me how they still haven't added any shop upgrades or even quality of life changes to the game.

I think the Sanrio items and probably the coding to make Bunny day work. I don't expect anything this time around. I personally don't care for any of the Sanrio characters so this update is underwhelming for me. I really don't like that you need to buy cards to get these villagers or their items. It is pretty much DLC and I'm not a fan of that. Let alone I live in rural where I have no option to buy the cards. Overall it's disappointing.

Regarding Bunny Day - I saw a post saying it’s exclusive to 2020... is this just because they have time-locked this year’s Bunny Day at the moment and haven’t updated the code for it yet, or do people mean exclusive as in we could get a different event this year?

Regarding Bunny Day - I saw a post saying it’s exclusive to 2020... is this just because they have time-locked this year’s Bunny Day at the moment and haven’t updated the code for it yet, or do people mean exclusive as in we could get a different event this year?

Hopefully that means that maybe they will make unique festivals or events for year and then make a new one with different activities and furnitures or DIYs for the next one ( one can hope haha )

I’m assuming it means they’re going to change how the holidays work for the second year of the game, since all the holidays are exclusive to the first year of the game atm? New DIYs/items, tweaks to the mechanics, maybe even completely different versions of them (so you have Actual Reasons to do it again)
